Location Feature

At the moment this is an exclusive for our Symbian S60 client users, who installed the latest version (0.9.3). You share your location and retrieve the location of your buddies. It’s great for arranging face to face meetings.

A map will show the location of your buddies that enabled this feature. You can always check the location of our Helpbot for a quick demo.


Only the locations of buddies running the S60 version that have enabled the option (via settings in the menu) can be shared or retrieved at this point. Stay tuned for location sharing in our other Nimbuzz versions for Java, PC, etc.

  1. . . Hi there, Ninbuzz team. I’m one of the Ninbuzz enthusiasts otu there because I need to use Skype and MSN for work all the time and Ninbuzz saves me the hassle of using two different applications at once just to get in contact with my team.
    . . Do you plan to enable this “where you are” feature to Java users anytime soon? Also, will Ninbuzz support “groups” in the future? That’s something I would really appreciate.

  4. Hi there,
    I have some suggestions for new features of the great nimbuzz :)
    - change font-size (e.g. like on the E51 on the picture in this article)
    - play notification-sound just in case the chat-window isn’t opened
    - deactivate groups at all, just display all your contacts
    - Use the mobile’s notification -> Nokia E51 (and maybe some others) got a little light that indicates new things like sms/mail/missed calls/…
    - plus: use those tiny black Icons that indicate these things to (in the upper corner of the startscreen)

    Just my 2 cent!

    it is vital for nimbuzz to have new animated features like whatever we have seen in e.g yahoo messenger.

    IP address is the the best requirement for conducting a chat room.

    Adding a multimedia player to nimbuzz will help the users to take a rest without ending the application because some phones don`t support simultaneous application usage.

    prepare some effecient RSS readers in nimbuzz mobile.

    some problems occures during nimbuzz mobile and pc usage like : my nimbuzz username, sina.raad can not load the contact list for more than 2 months.how can i solve this problem???? and so on……..

  7. I think nimbuzz need more emoticons, that will be more interesting. Also consider to enable picture (small one/limited size)at chatrooms.

    We are very happy getting all your comments and it’s great to see such enthusiasm (thanks Matze and Sina Raad).

    Our location feature will be available in all our clients of course (very soon) and we use GPS as well as cell ID, so you don’t have to have a GPS phone.

    As we add more emoticons, and features, such as chatroom monitoring we are happy to receive your feedback and look forward to bring some more exciting news very soon – stay tuned!

  13. nimbuzz a good cute app for every gprs users . This new location feature is tremendous . . Hope all are enjoying. Nothing to say. New users dont worry . Use for few days . It is very simple nd easy to use. Enjoy chatting. But i have doubt on calling. Mine symbian version . But i cant call free using nimbuzz. Am very happy to see my nokiaE51… Here on thz blog spot site

  22. oh, and one last thing. When i’m reading a message in my inbox, when i exit that message, it always takes me to the top of my inbox. Is it possible to make it so that it stays on the message i was reading, so that i don’t have to go find where i was in my inbox every single time i go back out a message? That’ll be grand:)

    I’d like to say that…..
    nimbuzz is for chatting.
    So…
    nimbuzz team must lavish most of their time on improvement of chatting.
    You nimbuzz team should concentrate on its ”chat rooms” and ”private chat”.
    Here are some useful lines if you act upon my advice you’ll succeed.
    1 : Change chat rooms style.
    2 : Download mig33 and check their chat rooms.
    3 : Stop showing different colour of ID’s when someone types something in the chat room.it takes up hafl chat room.
    4 : Its style should be like mig33 chat rooms.
    5 : Add ”kick” option in chat rooms and choose some decent users as chat rooms’ moderators.their job is to kick abusers and flooders after warning them.
    6 : If a moderator misuses his/her power.demote him without any hesitation.
    7 : 5 and 6 lines are most important if you want to increase your users.ask me cos i’m addicted to mig33 why mig33 is famous.you may ask me by contacting me.
    8 : Add ”block” option for ”private chat” so that we may block users in private chat.
    9 : If a user deletes us from his/her contacts list.his ID shouldn’t be removed from our contacts list.
    10 : I have many things to say but later.

    Thanks a lot for all your comments, we really appreciate to get all this feedback from our users.
    @ H_e_a_r_tfelt, thanks for all you r suggestions and ideas, at the moment we do not have manage chatrooms like some of our competitors.
    The “Mange Room” feature is the beginning to creating a fun chat room experience to meet new people. Currently only the creator of a chatroom, using the latest Java version, can administer the chatroom. However, you can also assign monitoring privileges to other people you trust.
    As we are aware of the fact that there are still issues with chatroom monitoring we are already working on improvements.

    Thanks for your suggestion!
    On the Java devices you can retrieve location from others (if available) but they can’t retrieve yours.
    Are you having issues to retrieve your contacts’s location?
