iPhone update: use Nimbuzz even if your screen is off and in 10 more languages

the new version of Nimbuzz for the iPhone is out!

Now you can stay connected even when your screen is off. (Nice.)

There is bug in russian ICQ support for iPhone. Most common encoding in russia is cp1251, but nibuzz uses utf-8. I think there should be some kind of autodetect

please specify that nimbuzz works fine with the iPod touch, and thus even more people are concerned.
also, the VoIP features work too, with an external microphone (i have an iPod touch 1st gen, firmware 2.2)
many external mics are available : the famous TOUCHMODS mic, belkin mics, griffin etc
it would be nice to have nimbuzz working with all these mics
i personally use the macally ivoice pro !

Your quality for Skype out from the Contact list on the iphone is Great!
BUT !!… It would be even better if there is a dail pad to call out with skype . Would this be comming anytime soon ??

@philippe, yes indeed we do support iPod Touch as well, and if you want to use the call feature you can use a headphone set with a microphone, make sure is compatible with apple products.

Great app, but please make keypad available:
1) before a call is made, to be able to use Skype-Out (for example), and
2) once a call is ongoing so that tones can be sent to control menu based systems (like banking or order tracking systems).

Updates sound good. Try to make it faster to connect though. That’s the only thing that kinda sucks about it…..takes about 30 seconds to load an msn and aim list.

I have it on my ipod touch 16gb 2nd gen.

It works, for a while, but when I quit the application and when I open it again, it claims that everyone on my messenger list is offline, and they are not. If I choose “Show offline-users=Invisible” then there’s no-one on my list.

No matter if I restart or relogin to Nimbuzz, I have to unregister my messenger from the application and add it again, then I can see all my contacts.. For a while.

I am trying to set up calling the Philippines however no matter what format I enter my iPhone number into the VOIP settings and the format I should enter my number, it just tells me it’s the wrong formatall the time, can you please mail me with the settings? I would be very greatful many thanks

i finally managed to download n install on my touch pro. but I can’t run it. always error wifi or gprs. I can run palringo without problem. looks like nimbuzz run only with wifi. too bad.

Well it’s almost 2 months now since my first message and still no fix by nimbuzz … I think it’s time to go elsewhere for VOIP capabilities
All I keep getting is messages stating nimbuzz is “working” on my problem but so far with no solution it’s obvious their calling over 3g does not work for so many people yet they give it very little time to sort out. Perhaps they would get a lot more people using this program if it actually worked.

You have all my details Nimbuzz including my mobile number so how about a fix before I delete for good?

We shall see………..watch this space………

Hello guys, just thought I would check to see how this “fix” was getting on as it’s almost another month gone now since my last message lol. Will things really ever get fixed? Surely all u need to do is set up a local access number and make sure u have servers available at destination? Perhaps u cud explain to the thousands of people waiting for this service exactly what the delays are?

You don’t need to have iTunes but you need to have an account with Apple. On the Apple store you can search for Nimbuzz and download it.

Hi, I was just wondering if Nimbuzz for Iphone will show the call when it comes in (as ir does on Nokia 5800, instead of just ringning,

what happend to me, is that if i have nimbuzz running in the backround, the cell just ring, so i have to open nimbuzz and anwser if i get to hear it…

In Nokia 5800 when the call comes in, the phone sounds in a particular way, vibrate and nimbuzz jumps so you cn peak the call just like if it was a regular call.

thats a great job you guys did for Nokia, will you do so for iphone?

Please fix the background working feature… It says 10 mins to 1 hour you can use nimbuzz when you work on different apps but when press home button it goes offline…

However some clients are able to see when a Nimbuzz contacts is logged in from a Mobile, since there is a small icon (of a mobile) next to the user’s name.

I am using iPhone and nibuzz on iPhone says that you can still be online when u r on ur home screen. But as soon as I press home button, it goes offline. Pls tell me if I am missing out smethin in settings or there is some other thing u would like to tell me

Check if you have the Push Notification enabled:
Settings> Push notifications> ON> Duration> 1hour

It is required to have iOs 4 or above to be able to download Nimbuzz on your iPhone/iPod.
We recommend you to update your iOs version.
