Locate your phone with the “Buzz”!

Ever have to frantically ask a nearby friend to call your phone so you can find it, before it stops ringing? Although you find your phone, you leave an impression that you do this to all incoming phone calls…

The “Buzz” is a short call alert sent to a phone, when Nimbuzz is not running; Used to alert an offline buddy. Instead of using costly mobile minutes to get in touch with your friend, sending a Buzz alert is free and auto-starts Nimbuzz! (depending on your handset)

BUZZee: To benefit from the “Buzz”, the feature must be activated via Nimbuzz Mobile: Menu/Options > Settings > Nimbuzz > The Buzz; then choose to Activate; or PC Client: File > Nimbuzz Account Settings > Allow others to Buzz me.

A received Buzz alert looks like a missed called from Nimbuzz Buzz, or +313131.

BUZZer: To “Buzz” a contact on your Nimbuzz buddy list, just select the offline NimbuzzID and press BUZZ.

Now, in the situation mentioned above, you can casually go to the nearest internet-enabled device, buzz yourself, locate your own phone, unfrazzled. We’ll keep it as our little secret.

Without Nimbuzz Mobile or Nimbuzz PC? To “Buzz” a Nimbuzz contact that has an online Communicator Widget, type the URL of his/her Nimbuzz Communicator Widget (i.e. my.nimbuzz.com/Nimbuzz ID) into your PC browser and click “Buzz” button.

NOTE: A mobile phone needs to be powered on and have Nimbuzz Mobile installed to receive a Buzz.

Sending a BUZZ on all Nimbuzz Touchpoints & the URL to get it!

  14. Hi,thank you because youre team is the best!
    I have 3 question
1.How many of buzz i can send in a day?
2.How much blank of time i have to wait between each buzz?(to some one or to all)
3.why when i buzz some body ,nimbuzz said ‘you have reached the max amount of buzzes you can send’?

    Hamed May 25th, 2009
  15. @Hamed
There is actually a limitation of buzzes that can be sent a day and per person (5).
You will have to wait around half hour in between each of the ones that you send.
There is also a limitation of the amount of buzzes that you can receive a day.
If you get that error message could be that you have already reached that amount or that the functionality is not available.
Let us know if you have more questions.

    Regards

  16. First ,thanx for youre last answer,
2nd, i have some questions again!
1.You said i recive 5 buzzes in a day,ok, but each day when start and when end? Means each day,in my country or your country or in accordance with GMT?
    2.when i used 1 of my 5 buzzes? When i buzz s.one,then nimbuzz said ‘ ‘x’ Recive max amount…’,or when s.one buzzed correctly ?
Tanx alot for your answer :x

    Hamed May 27th, 2009

When we say a day we mean on your own time-zone.
We are studying the idea of changing our error messages when using the Buzz feature to make it more understandable.
Let us know if you have more questions.

  25. I’m using Nimbuzz on nokia 3110c. It works really well. Recently i’ve changed my mobile number, when i tried updating it on Nimbuzz to activate buzz setting, it failed. I’m getting an error as, ‘sorry, we couldn’t recognise this phone number, check the entry or re-enter’. Could you tell me why am i getting this error n how it can be solved?

    Jas February 14th, 2010
  26. @Jas
Currently we use a system where we verify the phone number based on criteria for that country. We check this using area codes and number length.

We are changing and improving that often, so we suggest you to try again to register your phone number in case you get an error and verify as well the country you choose.

We are aware that there are some trouble with some countries, and we are working in order to solve this issue.

If you continue having problems with this option, please let us know via mail to support@nimbuzz.com the following information:

    - which is your country
    - provider do you have
    - phone number

    Regards
