Movers and Shakers at the MWC 2009

February 27th, 2009

The Mobile World Congress is over, the participants have returned to their homes and offices, but the business negotiations that started during the event continue, as well as the talks about announcements presented at this key event of the year for the mobile industry. We were happy to meet so many people and partners during the event.

Nimbuzz was proud to spend its first MWC experience, in Barcelona, with IT-giants like RIM (Research In Motion) and Toshiba. With RIM, we presented a BlackBerry version to be released in Q2 2009, and Toshiba is to pre-install our all-in-one application for a super digital lifestyle on their supernova – TG01 device!

Entering to the mass market on devices for hyper-connected and stylish people is a huge step for Nimbuzz. Having our application, that bridges social networks and IM community needs, already on the devices, will eliminate setup issues and make keeping in touch so much faster.

Facebook chat on Nimbuzz: work in progress…

February 25th, 2009

Access to Facebook on Nimbuzz is temporarily unavailable. We are aware of the problem and have a team working to fix it as soon as possible.

In the meantime, all of the other fantastic communities remain unaffected and you can continue to enjoy Nimbuzz to call, chat and interact with friends from your mobile to everywhere else.

Thanks for your patience while we work on the Facebook problem, and we’ll post back here as soon as we have more information.

Nimbuzz will be attending its first Mobile World Congress – and we are doing it with a BANG!

We are proud to have partnered with both RIM (Research In Motion) and Toshiba to develop the next generation mobile social messaging application!

Nimbuzz was selected by Toshiba to provide an application that integrates effortlessly into your sophisticated and “hyper-connected” digital lifestyle, and so we are launching on Toshiba’s new powerhouse, the TG01!

We are also working with RIM on a number of global initiatives and will launch our next generation BlackBerry versions in Q2.

Join us at the booth of Toshiba (Hall 8, A 111) and RIM (Hall 8, B 91).

We will also be attending the TechCrunch Talk on Thursday 19th of February, 3pm-6:30pm .

See you all there!

Locate your nearest and dearest – on the go – in real time!

February 4th, 2009

Location Sharing Feature

One important advantage of having Nimbuzz on your phone is that you can use the Location Sharing feature to keep in touch with your family and friends in real time.

Sure, we all love to talk, chat and message for free using Nimbuzz, but the location feature takes us one step further bringing us closer to dear ones. No need to have a scheduled meeting to enjoy a coffee with a friend, just go through your mobile Nimbuzz buddies that are online, and see who is closer to you by retrieving their location.

The Nimbuzz Location Sharing feature is also great for worried parents. You want to know where your “little one” is? Well … just go in to your contact list and retrieve his location on the map. He is not online? No problem just send him a Buzz to get him on line. It’s as easy as that.

Choose to see, and NOT be seen – “Invisible” status

February 2nd, 2009

At times, we can all sympathize with the author, Danielle Steel’s quote, “It’s hard being visible, so I’ve made myself invisible.” In case you ever want to be there (from a distance), and just observe, Nimbuzz understands.

With the new “Appear Offline/Invisible” login option, your status will be changed to offline/away automatically, without any extra clicking.
