Movers and Shakers at the MWC 2009
The Mobile World Congress is over, the participants have returned to their homes and offices, but the business negotiations that started during the event continue, as well as the talks about announcements presented at this key event of the year for the mobile industry. We were happy to meet so many people and partners during the event.
Nimbuzz was proud to spend its first MWC experience, in Barcelona, with IT-giants like RIM (Research In Motion) and Toshiba. With RIM, we presented a BlackBerry version to be released in Q2 2009, and Toshiba is to pre-install our all-in-one application for a super digital lifestyle on their supernova – TG01 device!
Entering to the mass market on devices for hyper-connected and stylish people is a huge step for Nimbuzz. Having our application, that bridges social networks and IM community needs, already on the devices, will eliminate setup issues and make keeping in touch so much faster.
Here is the testimonial from one of our best people (in the picture above), Geoff Casely, VP Business Development:
“As expected, there were a lot less people there than last year. However, the right people were still there, which I guess is the most important part!
As for new trends… nothing groundbreaking. Social Networks/IM Communities bridged interplay and Android were hot on everyone’s lips and some really nice devices were shown … like the Toshiba TG01.
All good news for us! Attending re-affirmed Nimbuzz’s importance and value as a multi-award winning and key industry-wide enabler.
As for new ideas… again, nothing groundbreaking but the world has gone mad about App Stores (Apple must be feeling so smug with themselves!) suffice to say Nimbuzz will endeavor to keep up with these upgrades, as they come online to be available in most of them. MWC is an essential event in the Nimbuzz calendar; we will definitely be back next year!”
