Introducing: Nimbuzz Polls

Starting today you will find a Nimbuzz Poll in the “Interact” section of the Nimbuzz blog (bottom of the right sidebar).

We will update the Poll around twice a month and are hoping that we can find out more about your experience with Nimbuzz and your preferences for future features that we should develop.

The first Nimbuzz Poll: “Which mobile phone should Nimbuzz support next?”

If you have any suggestion for our next Poll please leave a comment to this post!

Stay tuned to see the results!

  1. Nimbuzz is great! The only feature which I’m missing is that Nimbuzz would show a new message alert icon at the phone main page if new message is waiting (like Windows Live for Nokia S60 does).

  6. Hi,I’m using nimbuzz especially to get in touch with my Skype mates, but why can’t we get a full skype version allowing us to make phone calls using Skype credit?

    ilaine March 5th, 2009
  7. My suggestion for the next poll of Nimbuzz would be ‘do you need more skype and skypeOut functionality?’ .

I personally would like to see, that nimbuzz keeps his focus onto skype, looking forward to improve skypeOut usage out of the devices phonebook, typing numbers and dial using skypeOut, checking skype’s credit and listening to skype’s voicemail, improve the sync with the skypebuddylist and so on.

    Thomas March 5th, 2009

  11. 1+ for Jussi’s request. It would be great to have a nimbuzz active standby plugin for symbian. I wonder if it’s possible as i have not seen any other plugin but those developed by nokia. Are they blocking external applications from access to active standby screen?

    whitey2 March 5th, 2009
  21. well, I think you should support the Nintendo DS.
Maybe you can make a ROM-File for users of DSLinker, M3 and other. Or you can create a simple website which is supported by the DS internet browsers.

  22. Nimbuzz needs “Invisible” mode for iPhone. At present there are only 3 modes Online, Dont Disturb and Away. Invisible mode is a must for every IM. Without it, any IM application is incomplete.

  34. iPhone-
For me the only two interesting features on Nimbuzz are msn and Skype. With Skype the reason for installing Nimbuzz in the first place.
Nimbuzz is quite interesting but I still hardly use it because of it’s limitations. It would be usefull to have it run on the background. It’s annoying to exit Nimbuzz and reconnect (takes ages) to check anything else.
It also has limitations to use Nimbuzz on 3G. If there is a open wifi, that’s as great as it is rare and possibly illegal. On 3G the user can only ‘chat’. Speach is clearly the Nimbuzz strengh. If there is a way to use Skype-out or éven better Voipbuster (which is mostly free to landlines) Nimbuzz could really take off and cash in.
As it is; Nimbuzz is funny… and I have used it in the past.

    Eachat March 9th, 2009
  35. @Eachat we are constantly working in order to improve our application; we will add in the future the SIP feature (voipbuster).

Running applications in the background is actually not possible due to a device limitation, we will support it as soon as Apple releases this feature.

In the meanwhile you can lock your screen when using Nimbuzz, so it can still be running when you are not using it.

About the connection it is actually not possible to place VoIP calls via 3G on iPhone, that’s why you have to use Wi-Fi when making your calls.

Let us know if you have more questions or comments.

  43. I was using Nimbuzz on Nokia N73i, and it was perfect. I met lots of people and connected worldwide with it. I now use iPhone 3G, but my best feature is not there anymore. I love chatrooms, and they are a great way of meeting new people. Please, I would really appreciate if I had this feature on my iPhone. Most of my friends live abroad, and am not able to chat with them. I could also not access the chatrooms via Nimbuzz website.

    Jack Sparrow August 5th, 2009

Someone told, what i need to use away, then ppls in icq and msn cant see me, i tried both, away and busy, but its not help me, and better if nimbuzz can remember ur status.
