Testing Nimbuzz on Windows 7 RC1

nimbuzz-on-windows-7_-3

As you might have heard, Windows 7 Release Candidate 1 is out and tech blogs are writing about the new features, fast response time, and slick interface of this new Windows OS.

After reading all these articles I decided to see for myself how do I get along with Windows 7 and also I was really curious to see how Nimbuzz for the PC [Download Nimbuzz PC now] runs on it.

After 30 minutes of intense testing I was really happy about the new O.S and Nimbuzz. Both worked very nicely together, and I think this a perfect match.

The funny thing is that everything seemed to so natural that after I while I forgot to test the new Windows 7 and I was just chatting with all my friends from Facebook, Yahoo and Gtalk and catching up with the latest news.

If you also installed Nimbuzz on Windows 7 please let us know your feedback in the comment section. We would really happy to know how does it work for you!

P.S. Do you want to install Windows 7 RC1?

  1. I had been using Nimbuzz with Windows 7 about 2 weeks ago and everything works simply perfect, I am waiting for new releases of Nimbuzz with more features like the messenger snuggle and more sounds notifications.

I’m member of the nimbuzz community about one month ago.

  2. Hi

I have installed my copy of Windows 7 and my initial reaction is quite positive. Obviously it’s not the finished product but the OS seems to be working fine. I have to say it is a bit slower than my Vista, but as long as everything’s working it’ll do for me.

As for Nimbuzz, I haven’t had a single problem so far. Everything seems to be working for me just as on my Vista. I think Microsoft got it right this time since I haven’t experienced any compatibility issues so far.

Good job Microsoft and even better from Nimbuzz team! Best messenger around :)

  4. I am running Windows 7 RC1 on my Dell notebook.

The nimbuzz web interface does not work.

After login it does a couple of things briefly, then flushes the screen and then displays the login screen again.

Tried to login with various browsers, same result.

Thanks for your suggestion, we also think it could be a great feature.
We are studying the possibility of adding it in the future although we cannot fix a date for it to be done.

  11. After launch, Nimbuzz usually disappears at some point and the only way to re-open it is to kill its process and restart the program.

  20. I’m having a strange behaviour of Nimbuzz on Win7 Ultimate 64-bits:

The application runs correctly, I can open chat windows and everything seems to be fine, but if I close the Nimbuzz “main” window (the one with all my buddies)I cannot open it again! even if I try to start the program again from the start menu! I actually have to kill the “Nimbuzz.exe” process in the Task Manager and run the application again in order to see my buddie list.

Hope you can help me with this issue.

    Dherandra September 9th, 2010
  30. @Dherandra
Have you installed the app when running the system as administrator?
Vista and Win7 users should upgrade the PC client while running in Administrator mode. To do so, first exit Nimbuzz by right clicking the Nimbuzz icon in the system tray and selecting “Exit”. Next, locate the Nimbuzz icon on your desktop, right click and select “Run as Administrator”. Nimbuzz will now start and once you sign-in you will be able to upgrade.
    Cheers

Thanks for letting us know your issue.
We do not proxy SIP Voice Streams, which means that Nimbuzz just connects you to the SIP servers and the audio and voice portion of the call, is managed by your SIP provider.
For assistance on this issue please contact your SIP Support Team and let them know.
    Regards.
