Nimbuzz in the News – Nokia 5800 XpressMusic!

nokia5800-landscape

The overwhelming patient demand to support the slick, touch-enabled Nokia 5800 XpressMusic handset gave a sneak-peek at the excellent feedback we would receive from our release post comments, the 10,000+ views of the Nimbuzz for 5800 XM YouTube video, and online. Thank you for sharing the info with your friends on your blog, Twitter, and word of mouth!

Here are highlights of articles we liked best…

Symbian-Guru has kept up with the Nimbuzz for Nokia 5800 XM version from testing to official release and they feel “it’s hands down the BEST way to get instant messaging on your phone!

According to Nokia5800.net, “Nimbuzz is definitely the best designed third party application on Nokia 5800 today with its innovative feature set and intuitive user interface optimized for finger touch browsing.” After the detailed review, Sushant has not “seen a better designed user interface for the contact screen on 5800 than the Nimbuzz contacts screen. Hats off to developers of Nimbuzz!

Our “optimized multi-network instant messaging and social networking client for Symbian S60 5th edition” is now singing along with Nokia’s touch-enabled handset, as IntoMobile puts it.

MJelly says mobile developers will probably be following Nimbuzz’s footsteps, with its VOIP/messaging app designed for Nokia 5800, to target the big Nokia market.

  1. hi i cant download nimbuzz on 5800xpressmusic.it says expired certificate.plz help

  2. @ali,
    Thanks for reporting to us.
On your phone go to MENU- TOOLS – APPLICATION MANAGER. Check your setting by going to OPTIONS – SETTINGS and your will see Software Certification, set this to ALL if it isn’t already set. And if you also see the option ONLINE CERT CHECK set it to off.
Now make sure your phone date is correct. As the latest Nimbuzz was released about 2-3 weeks ago if your phone date is earlier then 3weeks ago you will get a certification error telling you to check your phone date or something like that.
So just be sure your phone date is correct and that you downloaded the most recent version of Nimbuzz.
Let us know if it works!

If you have your Skype account registered on Nimbuzz, you can call your Skype contacts for free!
Note that if you want to call to your SkypeOut friends you will have to have credit available on your SkypeOut account.
Let us know if you have more questions.

Have you applied any changes on your connection settings or network?
Since when are you experiencing this issue?
Do you have a big amount of contacts on your contact list?
Could you try to login on PC and unregister some of the communities with a long list and try again to login on the Mobile?
Let us know if it works.

  12. I installed nimbuzz on my Nokia 5800 XM but it doesn’t connect.
It says “Connection failed. Retry or go to web.
My GPRS is also working well.
    Kindly provide solution.

    Sanket February 25th, 2010
  13. @Sanket
Please check with your network provider if you are just allowed to browse the internet and check http sites.
Nimbuzz uses Socket connection, and some data plans just allow you to check Http sites.
That’s why you can use the Wap version of Nimbuzz directly on your phone browser.

    axon March 12th, 2010
  17. @axon
If you have changed your password from some communities that were previously registered on Nimbuzz.
you should unregister those communities from Nimbuzz
And then register them back again with the New password you have chosen.
    Let us know!

  18. Hi, I just installed Nimbuzz on my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. Everything works fine except on my Facebook account. I can’t login to Facebook, it just says, “Oops, the Facebook service is not fully working now. We are looking into it.”. Is this a bug on the software or due to my phone? Any help would be much appreciated. More power no Nimbuzz. Thanks!

i need either to change my username of registry or deactivate the account on my nokia E63
i will be glad for sure to be capable of changing my username,i tried to build new account but each time it says “this user already exists”
    please help

    marwa November 22nd, 2010
  22. @marwa
You can change your alias, (alias is the nickname that the other people can see when they talk to you) but not your username (the one that people uses to add you as a contact)

If you want to change your nickname you can go to menu > account settings > and change it there.
    Cheers
