  1. nice, but s60v5 version looks much more slick :]
anyway thank you, Nimbuzz team, for a great work!

  2. Very cool! Have an issue though: Nimbuzz directs all sound to the earpiece – which is cool for Skype calls but bad for everything else. Also, it does not revert back to the speaker even after exitting Nimbuzz. The only two workarounds I’ve found are (a) soft reset and (b) make a quick call, eg. to voicemail, then the sound is reset after the call ends.

Also any word when Facebook will work again? Still can’t log in.

I would just like to say THANKS to the Nimbuzz team for an awesome product! I love that it syncs my Twitter/MSN/Skype/etc.. statuses! Makes it easy to promote it… got one friend on Nimbuzz already!

We are constantly working in order to improve our products and deliver new versions to our users.
We are indeed working in new versions, but we cannot fix a date for it to be done since it is still underdevelopment.

    @Joe Sutton
We have tested what you have reported about the sound on earpiece and it is working as it should.
Can you please explain how would you expect the sound to be working? On earpiece or speaker always?
You can also send us your answer directly via mail to support@nimbuzz.com
Let us know and we will com back to you as soon as we can!

  10. When Nimbuzz is loaded, all sounds from the device are redirected to the earpiece. This means if someone rings while Nimbuzz is loaded, the ringtone is inaudible as it plays through the earpiece. Similarly, Nimbuzz alerts are inaudible.

I would have thought that the optimum functionality would be that the earpiece is only activated when I make a VoIP call on Nimbuzz, then reverts back to normal after.

Thanks for the support — you guys are awesome.

    Joe Sutton June 26th, 2009
  11. Hi,
I am using HTC diamond touch P3700, having latest official Rom from HTC and my os is WM 6.1. Nimbuzz improved a lot in this version. But there are few things which need improvement.
    1. This is very good that all calls are going thru earpiece but even after closing call all sound are coming from earpiece, which should come from speaker.
    2. If phone is on sleep mode, nimbuzz is not giving any alert of msg or incoming call. If I don’t use sleep mode, battery is finishing very fast.
    3. When I tried to connect to sip server which are in list of Nimbuzz, for example sip.tpad.com. I was able to connect without any problem. But when I tried to connect to other sip servers, like nymgo.com, pbxes.org and localphone.com. Nimbuzz failed to connect them.
All above problems are not present in others.
    Regards,

    Bobby Mil June 26th, 2009
  12. appreciated work…but problem is other voip registration..it wont let me register in…it takes a long tome and says no nimbuzz server,,,my sip is sip.voiparound.com

    Milap June 27th, 2009
  13. Having the same problem as “Milap”… “other” SIP provider doesn’t save – getting timeout response error from the nimbuzz server.

Also “calling” a windows live (aka msn) contact won’t work, no request shows up at the called party. If they try to call me, they get a message saying I’m not using the latest windows live messenger.

    Tintin June 28th, 2009
  14. additional findings:

-SkypeOut doesn’t work at all, not by picking a contacts phone number and not via the SkypeOut dialer either, it says dialing and then just returns to the dialer after some time, with no error message (and yes I do have money in the account)

-Calling a Skype contact directly (not via SkypeOut) doesn’t work either, no call shows up at the called party

The only thing that worked is the other party calling me directly via Skype.

The sound comes from the backspeaker, to utilize the earpiece you should have a look at the audio library by Teksoftco called DYNRil, http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=develtools

Their freeware tool “audioroute” will let me route the audio to the earpiece, but if you could implement it in nimbuzz client directly, it would be even better.

We are aware that it is not possible to call some MSN contacts if they are using the Windows Live Messenger version 2009.

This is because some changes that MSN has done on their side, we are working at the moment in order to adjust our services to theirs, so the call can be done without problems.

Please let us know if your buddies are using a different Windows Live Messenger version.

About the Skype problem you have experienced, it is working fine it our side, we suspect it was a temporary issue. Please report us in case you experience the issue another time, indicating the approximate that you experience this issue.

I couldn’t find a way to disable it, even after uninstalling and had to do a hard reset of the phone. I tried again with a fresh install and the same issue occured. I’ve gone back to Nimbuzz 1.1 for the timebeing.

  22. re: non-predefined sip accounts are not saved

Can only give you the messages in german (there seems no way to switch to english languag in the client)

So I went to SIP accounts, picked “Anderer SIP account” (meaning other SIP account) at the bottom of the drop-down list, then entered my credentials, then clicked save button. After about a minute I get a popup message:

    message box title: “Nimbuzz Info”
message: “Timeout, keine Anwort von Nimbuzz-Server empfangen wird!”

translated: timeout, no answer received from nimbuzz-server

btw. the german translation is faulty, you should work on that too, correct german would be: “Timeout, der Nimbuzz-Server antwortet nicht!”

  32. The physical keyboard on the Dopod838pro has a number pad that’s usually accessed by using the Function key rather than separate keys for numbers – 1 is on the Y button, 2 on the U button, etc etc.

Once installing the new version of Nimbuzz the physical keyboard becomes locked permanently to the number pad in every app, so regardless of whether the Function key is activated or not pressing the Y key always displays a 1, etc etc.

I tried twice to install it, the second time after clearing the phone and starting from scratch, and both times the issue arose and wasn’t able to be rectified unfortunately.

    Nathan July 1st, 2009
  33. @Andi
    Thanks for your reply.
Yep, I wrote Voip but I meant SIP, and my query was simply a report about the no workin’ SIP calls on last release, ’twas tested by me with several SIP providers and both connection (UMTS and Wifi)to be sure that ’twas not my personal SIP or network configuration fault.
Anyway great job, waiting for the next upgrade :-)

    giampa64 July 2nd, 2009
  34. @Jithin
We recommend you to check with your SIP provider’s Support Team.

    One step behind :-)
Now SIP is worknig, I was fault using as username in login window only [username], using [username@sip.mysipprovider.it] SIP logon and calls are OK.

    Thanks again

    giampa64 July 2nd, 2009
  36. @Queralt
Thanks for the hint – that solved the problem for me also.

    @Nimbuzz
Very uncommon to have to put the “username” in format username@sip.provider.com when there are separte fields for registrar and proxy as well, didn’t even think of that !

    Tintin July 3rd, 2009
  37. Also the error message “No response received from Nimbuzz-Server” is misleading then, as I understand from what you said, it’s not the Nimbuzz server that’s not responding, but the registration at the SIP provider that fails.

    Tintin July 3rd, 2009
  38. @giampa64
    Thanks for theupdate ! :)

    @Tintin

  39. @Queralt
SIP feature is the most used by me, as you already now is still no possible to save the personal SIP logon datas, and it’s the only problem found (AFAIK).

I have to say that the SIP voice quality is really high (which codec is in use?), in data mode (of course) there is a little delay (but no echo) due to UMTS /HSPDPA connection (Wifi test report soon).

At the end of the story now I can use my SGH-i600 as a mobile with fixed line rate call :-)

    giampa64 July 3rd, 2009

do you get any error message when registering your SIP account? If yes, which one?
Can you describe the steps you have done to reproduce this issue?
Let us know and we will come back to you as soon as we can.

    Nimbuzz Support July 7th, 2009
  43. @Jithin & Queralt

There is no big secret in the codecs used, Nimbuzz presents ulaw (pcmu), g729 and ilbc. However if anything other than ulaw is set as preferred (first) codec on the provider side, calls get hung up after the called party picks up – so ask the SIP Provider to put ulaw first if possible. I tested this with my own voip server.

    Tintin July 7th, 2009
  44. Correction: ilbc works fine – the problem is only with g729, so if that’s picked as codec the call gets dropped as soon as the other party picks up. Logs show that there is no frame received from the Nimbuzz side once the call is picked up (and yes, I do have g729 licenses on my server)

    Tintin July 7th, 2009
  45. Tha aplication blocked a phone when I make a number and start a call.
The registration passed without any error.( Skytel Srbija)
Nimbuzz start and register the user. Then I see all online contacts. After that I go to menu – phone calls – digit a number – a call start dialing the number. At this time the phone stop to respond. The only way to exit from this is soft reset of the phone.

    Regards and thanyou.
    Argos_59

    Arrigo Marfan July 7th, 2009
  46. So to sum this up:

    1. Nimbuzz shouldn’t offer/use g729 as a codec until problems are fixed.

    2. It should be possible to put just “username” instead of “username@sip.provider.com” in field username as you have the server name in a separate field anyway and can put it together. You should do that because your way is =very= uncommon, I have not seen this in any other SIP client before and you will get many support requests just because of something that you could easily adapt.

Since you can do both on the server side, you should be able to fix it shortly.

  58. Hi there,

I had the old Nimbuzz v1.0 installed on my i-mate 9502 pda/phone, running i-mate’s official v1.77 WM6.1 ROM. It worked, but with its own classes of problems. Then, I’ve updated Nimbuzz to v1.2.0. However, as soon as I launch it, the usual orange screen comes up stating it is logging in, but I see my free RAM ammount going down all the way, and after a big while Nimbuzz simply crashes without issuing any error messages.

Please, if possible, take a look at this problem.

    Thanks in advance

  62. An update to my previous post (above): after the memory leaking problem I have experienced with v1.2.0, I have reinstalled the old v1.0. The first time I’ve launched it, the warning update message has come up, stating that v1.2.1 was now available. Then, I have downloaded and installed this new version. I was able to login to my account now, but the memory leaking is still pretty heavy, but on the first login only. Afterwards, it seems to work fine. The other problem I’ve found so far is that I could login to my SIP provider (other) fine, but it seems not to remember it after quiting. Everytime I run Nimbuzz, I have to fill in my SIP account data again.

    casouzaj July 17th, 2009
  63. One more issue: I called my home phone through SIP, but as soon as the call is answered, it is released!? I’ve done it 3 times. Same annoying behaviour!

    casouzaj July 17th, 2009
  64. Oh, had forgotten, although already reported by others: all audio still seem to be permanently routed to the earpiece in v1.2.1. A normal phone call is needed afterwards, in order to restore audio sources to their apporpriate channels…

    casouzaj July 17th, 2009
  65. I can confirm that the new version has resolved the sound issue – when Nimbuzz is launched sound is still correctly routed through the main speaker. However, I don’t seem to be able to call Skype’s echo service to test that out. I hear the dialing sound (through the main speaker), but then silence. Hmm… I appreciate the hard work!

    Joe Sutton July 17th, 2009
  66. hi,

the problem i am facing is same as casouzaj. “One more issue: I called my home phone through SIP, but as soon as the call is answered, it is released!? I’ve done it 3 times. Same annoying behaviour!”

when i make a call the phone at other end rings after the other end answers my call.the call gets disconnected. i am unable to hear the person voice also. even the registration and sip account details i need to fill in each time i log on to nimbuzz.

I am using 3G/GPRS connection for my sip.

    my call does not complete.

My username is rajkamalts for the sip account actionvoip.com.

    thanks in advance.

    rajkamal July 18th, 2009
  67. I’ve found the reason why Nimbuzz takes so much time and all the available memory the first time it runs after being installed: it practically duplicates my Contacts list, by creating new entries simply to remove non-digit characters, like ‘(’, ‘)’, ‘ ‘, and ‘-’, which all my stored contacts happen to have, in order to prepare its own Contacts list. I apoligize if I sound harsh here, but this is pretty much unacceptable to me. Why not simply remove those characters whilst dialling, just like WM itsef does, is beyond me. Besides, in my case the new contacts list is pretty much useless, because all my contacts are stored in national form, with a leading 0 (zero), follwed by a 2-digit Carrier Selection Code), and then the 10-digit national number (with the non-digit characters in the middle). To dial though SIP, it would much, much more useful to me if, within its dialling parameters, Nimbuzz had options like digits to be included (in my case ‘55′, for Brazil), number of digits to be removed (in my case, the 2-digit CSC), and start point for such changes in the digits string. Then, Nimbuzz just had to remove the non-digit characters, apply the suggested options, and dial, without the need to double the size of my Contacts list.

Really sorry, but after finding this behaviour, I have uninstalled Nimbuzz from my device, and had to manually delete all the duplicated contacts.

Hope you can consider rewriting Nimbuizz code regardig its Contacts list handling, for a future release.

    Thanks, anyway.

  69. hi,

the problem i am facing is same as casouzaj.

  85. Hi all,

First thanks for such a great piece of software.

Here’s a suggestion: with skype out, I’m not able to send keystrokes to one of those “press 5 to continue” machines. I’ve tried VirtualKey to no avail. It’s probably because the skype module (not Nimbuzz) does not have its own keypad, you recon something could be done about it?

Thanks a lot, overall I enjoy Nimbuzz a lot.

  87. Hi everybody,
I’m using htc tytn2 with windows mobile 6.1 in it. I have two problems.

I normally use google talk through nimbuzz. but the voice is not that much clear. but the other party can hear my voice very clearly.

and secondly about using actionvoip. i checked previous reports & found that everybody has the same problem. connection is lost when the receiver picks up the phone.

please inform me if there’s any solution.

Thanks for your comment and feedback.
Normally the quality of the voice in a call depends on your connection. Which type of connection are you using when calling to your Gtalk friends?
In regards of the SIP (actionvoice) sound issue, We do not proxy SIP Voice Streams, which means that Nimbuzz just connect s you to the Sip server and the audio and voice connection is managed by your SIP provider.
If you have this kind of issues, please contact your SIP Support Team and let them know .
Let us know if you have more questions.
