When instant messaging, the emoticon (or smiley) is very important since it’s difficult to fully express how you feel in the virtual world. We’ve received many requests for more Nimbuzz emoticons from you and it would be brilliant if you could add your personal touch to Nimbuzz by designing an emoticon yourself.
Timeline: The contest starts on June 30, 2009 and it will end on July 27, 2009, 08:00 AM CET
Guidelines:
NOTE: We are looking for new emoticons, not variations of the existent ones.
What do I need to send?
The emoticon needs to fit the style of the existing Nimbuzz emoticons, so there are a few limitations (i.e. please do not submit animated-style emoticons).
Each entry must include these three files:
- 16x16px png
- 32x32px png
- Your workfile/-s (AI, PSD or whatever fileformat/program was used).
Optional you can include:
- propose the ASCII version of the emoticon (i.e. >:), <3 or d(^_^)b )
- send a “fake screenshot” with your emoticon in any of the Nimbuzz clients
How do I send the .zip file to you? Please email your .zip file to contest@nimbuzz.com with “EmotiContest” in title. Submissions received after the above mentioned deadline will not be considered.
Why should I do it? What do I get from this?
- Personal Touch: You know which emoticon/image Nimbuzz needs to add to it’s chat service
- Recognition: You can get your work viewed by millions of Nimbuzz users from every country of the world, we will identify your name in the Nimbuzz Blog.
- Acknowledgment: We will give a Nimbuzz Recognition Certificate, that certifies that you are the designer of the emoticon. The certificate will be signed by the Nimbuzz Head of Design, Gijs de Ridder.
To give you a hint on what we are looking for please download this .zip file, it contains:
- The emoticon body in 16×16 and 32×32
- The workfile (AI) for our emoticon.
- Two charts with the current/upcoming emoticons:16×16 and 32×32
