I am disappointed: push is working but i don’t like it very much. I would prefer a pop-up instead of this balloon tip which can be overseen very quickly. Both would be even better.

After receiving a push notification, I log on into nimbuzz and see a msg from e.g. “35436456″ – but nimbuzz does show me the equivalent icq contact. How sould I know who this number is?

I was hoping for skype push notifications, as well as for skype call and sip call notifications. SIP calls still don’t allow dmtf to interact with ivrs or with voicemail options.

With regards to push notifications, 30 Mins is really bad. For me that is the same as not having push notifications at all.

For now I am going to continue to use beehjive im which is much better for push notifications.

Push needs Alerts, Sounds and Badges to be useful. If you are not looking at your iPhone you cannot tell when you’ve got a new notification – even when wearing headphones. Also, you need to know who a new push alert is from before deciding if it needs to be answered right away.
30 mins is hopeless.

I am updated to the new version of nimbuzz on my 2g iphone with the older 2.2 software and everything works however i believe i found a bug. When i click on one of my contacts and hit the photo button the pop up happens for take photo, choose existing photo, and cancel. Problem is that the “cancel” button can’t be selected. I have to hit choose existing photo and then cancel and it’ll be fine. I like the new format though. Good work.

Really nice work! But like fs, I’d like to see Skype implemented as soon as possible – can you give us any updates on that matter? And how about different contact list styles (something simple & sleek, that fades into the background, just the names)? That’s one thing I really hate about the Skype interface: they refuse to give the users more options!

I use an iPod Touch with 3.0 software update, and Nimbuzz is not showing any of my aol contact as online, when in fact they are online, not invisible ( i logged into aol and could see them). To get more interesting, i can even send them IM through Nimbuzz when I know they are online, and receive Im’s from and have a coversation, but they still show as offline in my numbuzz contacts. any ideas?

We are studying the possibility of adding Skype in the future but we do not have plans for SIP calls notifications.
We do not have SIP calls that allow dmtf to interact with ivrs or with voicemail but we will consider it for the future improvements.
About the 30 min push notification, we are working to improve the duration in the future.

I upgraded my Ipod Touch to 3.0 OS! I had and older version of Nimbuzz and everything worked fine! Unfortunately after I have upgraded my Nimbuzz to the latest new version (which said OS 3.0 tested). I could connect to my account (Skype, Facebook, ICQ) just once, after that Nimbuzz says “online” but all my contacts are displayed as offline… I have deleted all my data and accounts, and then tried to add them. I just get the message saying “Connecting”….and that’s it…I can’t add any account right now… What had happened??? The older version was much better…

Awesome! I love the Mac application! [BUG REPORT] I just cannot use accented characters, whenever I type an escape-key, such as “~” or “´” the cursor goes to the first character! Should be easy to fix! Congratulations for such a great effort!

Dear Nimbuzz guys!

I once again downloaded and installed Nimbuzz, it’s still not working! I get the same message:

”A network error occurred when we tried to sign you in. Please try again later.”

My internet connection is fine. I was happily using the Nmbuzz RC1 on my mac. Only after I downloaded and installed the full and final version, I’m getting this error message.

Are there any network settings goofed up? I’m a new mac user, so I’m still figuring this out.

Further, I’ve been using Nimbuzz on my E71 for some months now. I’m really missing it on my mac.. Pleeeeese help!!

I’ve got three requests tho. The first one has been asked for numerous times but I’ll add my vote to the others and that is longer time. To stay online,
Secondly please add a toggle for the sign off sound. I thought that my iPhone was hunted. I didn’t know where that megistic sound was coming from. I went as far as restoring my phone because of it. Because in nowhere it tells you about any sound being omitted after the app has been closed
lastly please add a notification ballon or popup. The little badge is easily missed. I’ve lost so many msgs because i didn’t know I got any

Please note that the pop-up window only works for messages, not for chats. You can change the settings for alerts, sounds and badges on the iPhone settings.

To turn off sounds, alerts and badges please change on your iPhone settings. We do have the pop – up notification for messages and calls, only not for chat. The reason for this is because we wanted to keep the quality on the usability of another features on the device while using the push. But we will consider your suggestion for the future improvements. The longer duration on the push notification is already on our roadmaps. About the push notifications: aren’t you receiving notifications? Are you using iPhone or iPod? If iPhone, please make sure you have the new 3.0 OS and your notifications are enabled on the iPhone settings.

Great to know all works fine!
You can make free VOIP calls to Nimbuzz buddies and to other communities such as Skype, MSN, GTalk, Yahoo.
You only have to save your account details of the respective communities you want to call in Nimbuzz.
Using SIP, you can make cheap calls to a landline and regular mobile phones. With Nimbuzz SIP support, you can make Internet calls via the Nimbuzz Phonebook feature by adding any SIP provider you already use. Costs depend on your SIP provider rates.
SIP calling is mostly used to make cheap international calls.

I’m using iPhone 3G with FW 3.0…
I use WiFi to connect to Internet…
I can receive/reply to all communities when I’m inside Nimbuzz, but when I get a push notification and open Nimbuzz, from address is shown like ‘someone%gmail.com’ or ‘someone%hotmail.com’. When I reply to those messages, it appears like the message has gone, but the other person is not receiving it…

The iPhone app is cool but I think the Mac version needs some more work. A couple of things 1. Tabs for the windows 2. Be able to see my MSN contacts avatars 3. File sending 4. Hide groups 5. MSN emoticons 6. Hide friends statuses

I’ve been using Nimbuzz for iPhone for a while now, and it is easily the best IM client out there. My favorite part is the Skype and Gizmo5/SIP support. Having the IM clients and Voip clients in one app is awesome.

A few suggestions though for improvement – for Skype and the SIP phone parts, it would be great if you had more options available during a call. The one that is absolutely necessary is a keypad for touchtones during a call. A mute and speakerphone option would be nice as well.

The only other thing I could ask for would be google voice support. Ideally, if there was a way to link the dialpad/phone feature of nimbuzz to google voice, so when you dial a number, it uses google voice to dial the number and actually rings back your cellphone. If you did this, it would DOMINATE all other communication apps, and you could easily charge money for it.

I was waiting for Push notifications for a long time.
BUT why a max limit of 30 minutes??? It is way too short! “IM+” lets choose between 10 minutes, up to 3 days! I think 12 hours is a minimum to be usefull.
Also, I only get sound+badge, no message on top of the springboard despite having enabled all in the push preferences…
Other complaint: launch time is too long (“connecting…”) is it so that we can read the “Nimbuzz loves Apple” ad???

BTW, I got the same bug as Naushad about the Gmail contacts… It seems like there is trouble in notifications with the encoding of “@” that is in “%40″, so Nimbuzz thinks they are 2 different peoples

The longer duration on the push notification is already in our roadmaps, but we can’t fix a date for it to be ready yet. The launch time for Nimbuzz depends on your internet connection,number of contacts you have and on your phone processing power.

Great job, up to now I could not find any other IM app near close to Nimbuzz.
Only two things that I would like to see improved: push notification for at least 12 hours and pop up for chats and not only messages (it took me a long time to realize I didn’t have a problem on push for my iphone but it was Nimbuzz that didn’t send pop ups).
Also, Im using backgrounder to run nimbuzz in background for now, it would be nice to have the badge also showing up even when we are running the program in background…

Thanks for the release, guys. Nimbuzz is the best IM client for the iPhone – especially with it’s Skype support and push notifications. My biggest gripe (apart from what was already said) is that the client takes too long to load even after you have told it to “stay online”. I know the app is closed and has to reopen again but waiting 10-15 seconds just to read one message is a little too much. If you have to load all my contact list data and all every time I start the application, why not just store the data on my device. If this gets fixed, the iPhone version will finally be on par with the multitasking Symbian version you have.

If you have changed you password in any of the registered communities, and you cannot lo on them now, you have to go on MAC: Contacts> Communities > Select the comunity and log in your new password.
On the iPhone you have to go to Menu > Settings> Communities> Select the Community and log in the new credentials.

Hello, first I want to say that this app is very impressive, but I have a problem, well I think is a problem, the push notifications don’t show me any pop-up, only a badge on the app icon, is this correct? at the notifications option shows me that the option is on. Other thing is that I would like to know how the calls work for ipod touch, the call option that is under the chat option. Thanks

Thanks for letting us know. Please note that the pop-up window only works for calls and messages, not for chats. We decided to leave it this way to preserve the usability of other features in the phone at the same time without interruption. To make VOIP calls you only press call on any of your contacts able to receive calls and you will call. Using SIP, you can make cheap calls to a landline and regular mobile phones. With Nimbuzz SIP support, you can make Internet calls via the Nimbuzz Phonebook feature by adding any SIP provider you already use. Costs depend on your SIP provider rates.
SIP calling is mostly used to make cheap international calls. A list of SIP providers can be found in the link below:

Yo can download the application from our website and install it. After it you will find Nimbuzz in your applications Menu or programs and by clicking on Nimbuzz icon you can open it and sign up creating an username and password. As you finish it you will login and you will be able to enjoy Nimbuzz.

I have maybe around 20-30 contacts for AIM and ICQ each + 40ish GTalk ones + about 440 Facebook friends. Out of those, I usually have around 25-35 online. This being said, the client takes about 10 seconds to load on AT&T’s 3G network. Now, 10 seconds isn’t all that much but to view a single IM, it may be. I would be way cool to have your contact list load instantly – just as the built-in address book does. I think it would make a world of difference in terms of user interaction quality if it did so.
I am no expert in iPhone development but I would try to cache/save as much info on exit and, upon reload, refresh it as needed. This should cut down on the loading times and, as an added benefit, would reduce the amount of data being sent back and forth and go easier on the battery. Speaking of, anything you can do to reduce the power usage of the program would be more than appreciated by the users. We all know the iPhone doesn’t have the best battery life…
At any rate, this is a great app, so thanks for creating it — and keep up the good work.

Awesome update!
The only thing is that the 30 minutes time limit for push notification makes it nearly useless!
I want to stay online for 24 hrs or so, so that I can always be connected.

that shouldn’t be any problem from the programming side and I read few comments which request the same.

I dont get any message pop-ups but the push service seems to work just fine…. strange

seems very nice… of course there are bugs to be fixed, but it’s still an early version. would be nice if you could sort your contacts by status, see smilies and color (not color codes) in the personal messages (windows messenger) and skype + video support would be great too of cours. however, it’s one of the best solutions for mac, it hink, even if adium is even more “mature”, you do have some advantages. go on please

I have a problem with Nimbuzz on the Iphone 3GS, it does not automatically connect to the communities. It only connects (to all) after I first make it forget my login details of one (for example skype) and reenter them. Then it connects to all communities. Is this a known issue? Regards!

Hi, I have a little problem with Push-Notifications. I have a iPhone 3Gs with OS 3 and the uptodate Nimbuzz app. All other apps display screen-notifications regularly. Nimbuzz app doesn’t. When i am online with nimbuzz and nimbuzz app is not running… and if i get a message… sounds and displaying numbers of received messages work fine. but the screen-message “nimbuzz.. you have received a message from…: …..” doesn’t pop up.
In settings, the screen-messages are activated.
I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled it on the iphone, but screen-messages still dont pop up.
Can you help me please?

It’s good to see that you support the Mac platform, but, like Wavex, I wonder why this app is Intel only. I understand that many programmers, esp. developers of games, codecs, video processing etc. don’t want to release their software for PowerPC anymore, as it means a lot more work to do so. But porting a chat client like Nimbuzz to PowerPC wouldn’t require more effort than simply checking “Universal Binary” before compiling. Even if only 15 % of Mac users have PPC machines these days, it would mean you would reach 15 % more users.
I am quite happy with Adium now and will stick to it, but it would have been great to finally have an alternative.

Hi,
I agree on the 30mins is useless. Maybe the mesg can be set to pop up instead of needing to go into the program before u can see the mesg.

One more thing, I found chatting to skype users works but more laggy compared to the actual skype for iPhone software.
Have done a few tests with people in the country and outside (few diff ones) and nimbuzz was quite laggy.

I also found the chat thru wifi will only work with skype users. Msn & yahoo didn’t work for me @ all.

Thank you for requesting more information. WHen attempting to connect to skype to dial out, the system will not connect to the skype servers. The only way is to delete my skpe account from Iphone and re enter my account name etc. This will then work and allow me to place calls however exiting Nimbuzz and then re opening Skype will again not be found. This was not a problem until the last update.

I paied 10$ to install Beejve apps in order to use msn messenger but until today i couldnt open my messenger, after that i found a free & wonderful apps (Nimbuzz).
I logged into my msn,facebook & skype account from the first time & it works without any troubles.
Also I used (3g unrestrictor) & i test the voice chat, it was wonderfull.

Hello support,

the file transfer does not work on the OS X application (snowleopard)! I cannot send any files. Further how do I download files being transferred to me from Windows clients? I receive an email notification to sign in to Nimbuzz but there is no option to download the file?

Sometimes while registering to Facebook, you will be request to introduce your birthdate as a verification of your account.

You just have to introduce your birthdate with the same format you did on your Facebook account settings and few seconds after your Facebook contact list will appear.

i have a problem with nimbuzz on the iphone… whenever my friends try to buzz me when the application is closed, it just tells them i have the feature disabled.. and when i try to call a friend on nimbuzz and they are offline it does not even give me the option to call or buzz them …..i went thru the settings and everything and i dont know how to enable this feature… is there a way to make this feature work as it used to on my nokia

Btw this is probably the best IM application out there, u guys need to work a lil bit on push notifications, they sometimes dont come thru.. and increase the stay online to like 7 days as in beejive… other then that i have no complaints. Keep up the good work

Thanks, i was able to enable the buzz by logging into nimbuzz from my brothers nokia… however, whenever someone tries to buzz me i still dont get the buzz.. even if i am using a nokia device… and when i try to buzz them it says the fair usage policy does not allow.
for the website bit, i tried that but as soon as u change the settings and click save it just logs u out and when u log back in the settings are as before.

do u know as to when we would be able to buzz from the iphone… and when we will be able to receive buzz on the iphone as well..

In regards of the Buzz, there is a limit of Buzzes to be sent and received per day per user.
If your friends have not sent more than 3 buzz alerts per day and when trying to send you one they get an error message, please let us know when this happened: which date/time and the time zone.
In regards of the settings not being saved in the Webchat version, could you let us know which browser and version are you using?

Your Yahoo contacts should see the display picture you have on yahoo itself, not on Nimbuzz.

The Chatroom option is only available on Nimbuzz for Mobile in symbian and Java devices.

My Nimbuzz on my iPhone no longer works i have rebooted the phone and it failes to launch

Could you please let us know if when you try to launch it you get any error message? Which Nimbuzz version you have?
Since when you have this problem?
Did you already try to uninstall Nimbuzz and install it again to test if it works?

Which Nimbuzz version are you using?
Since when are you receiving this error?
Were you able to login successfully before?
Did you make any changes on your connection lately?

Trying to use our VOIP system as SIP provider Configured a SIP phone in the Callmanager (SIP phone won’t register) and SIP account in Nimbuzz but getting “Call is not allowed by your SIP provider” when trying to make an internal (4-digit) call. I forgot how to add another SIP account in Nimbuzz or delete the existing one. Please help!

We recommend you to register again your SIp account on Nimbuzz en try:
You can go to Options > Settings > SIP Accounts to register an account.
After that you can place VoIP calls via the Phonebook.

Silly not to have a PPC version considering you are alienating a lot of PPC users – got an iPhone, not much point for me to have it on the iPhone but not my mac PPC.

To add your SIP account on MAC, go to:
Menu> Add Accounts> Calls
Select SIP provider
Add your SIP account credentials
Done!
