Good news for all the owners of a Java mobile phones, we have just released a brand new Nimbuzz version exclusively on Getjar.

This new version will also be available on Nimbuzz.com in a week , but if you want to try it today go to Getjar.com and download now.

To get it straight on your mobile, go to Getjar.com from your mobile browser, search for Nimbuzz and download ;).

Here are the brand new features that we have introduced in the Java 1.5 release:

  • Direct access to active chats and chatrooms from the top of  your buddylist
  • Chat previews in the buddylist – easily see what’s going on and monitor multiple chats
  • Fast switching between buddylist and chats/chatrooms
  • Save space on your screen – chose to view one group at the time
  • Quick Navigation to the top or the bottom of your buddylist using right and left navigation keys

    Did you try to download the Symbian version to your phone? We recommend you to download the Symbian version to your device through our website.

    on Brand please choose device, and on model please put 5800.

    If you get “not enough memory” as an error, this might be cause some devices like yours sometimes do not have enough memory to run or support Nimbuzz application.
    We suggest you to try the Nimbuzz wap version which you can chat with your buddies but the chatroom feature is not available.

    We do not support VOIP calling on Nimbuzz Mobile for Java devices like yours. This is not a Nimbuzz limitation but the device’s which does not have enough power to support internet calling. We will be pleased to implement it as soon as this limitation is solved.

    I have a sony-ericsson c905, and i tried to install Nimbuzz on it, but it was unsuccessful.
    it seems that the current version does not support the “Call” option;

    I was wondering if you are going to release a new version that supports this option, and if yes when?

    Which error message did you get?
    Indeed currently we don’t support VOIP calling in Java devices like yours. This is a limitation of the device which does not have enough power to support internet calling. As soon this is solved we will be pleased to implement it.

    How often this issue happens with you?
    This issue is not known and is not a normal behavior of the application. In order to investigate this issue can you please send to us your “Nimbuzz log” after this crash?
    On your phone please check on tools > files manager > Nimbuzz log.
    Check if you have it and send it to us via support@nimbuzz.com and we will investigate what is happening.

    Its doesnt work properly that i wanted.,.,.
    Even its launched the new version of it.,.,.,.v1.5
    Im using SE P1i
    I cant send any files or pictures or change the avatar also.,.,.,.even retreiving locations.,.,.,.
    The nimbuzz admins doesnt respect my words i was told this before.,.,.

    You can send files but it depends on the size. Make sure you don’t send too big files.

    1- لا يمكن ان ندخل غرف الدردشة عن طريق الكمبيوتر لماذا ؟
    2- لا يوجد نسخ عربية للعديد من موبايلات النوكيا وسوني اريكسون
    3- لا يمكننا القيام بالدردشة الصوتية عن طريق النيمبوز لماذا ؟

  20. I am running into the same FTP issues on the J2ME version (SE k850i). Option to send file seems to no longer exist. I have stepped back to v1.1.0. If there is a menu partition I am not finding or if the pathway has moved, please advise. Thanks.

  24. hey, guys! i got a suggestion you might wanna consider. how about you make a skin for nimbuzz? so that the users won’t be bored with the same look. also, you can give the users a chance to make their own skin. that’s all my suggestion. i hope you can make it a reality in nimbuzz 2.0 for java. thanks. ^^

    To have a quality call we recommend you to have on both sides a good wifi hotspot or 3G connection.

  28. I’ve had to downgrade to v1.1 as v1.5 rarely loads the app fully – it hangs whilst checking the contact list. The previous version connects and loads just fine. Also, please add support for 3 UK branded mobile phones, namely the Skypephone S1, S2 and INQ1 The java app works almost perfectly on my Skypephone S2, just the send file and phonebook manager don’t work. Sending voice clips and taking photos works, plus everything else.

    Was nimbuzz working before on the same device and internet connection you use now?

  30. Hi – just put it on my nokia 5130 xpressmuic phone. Everytime I open it I have to go through the txt message that was sent to me by nimbuzz then select phone make and model and then sign in. is there an easier way to sign in? is there a link somewhere or a shortcut to sign in rather than having to go through all of these steps?

    For technical reasons we don’t support old versions. The new versions come up to fix possible issues and ad more features to the application.
    The login depends on the internet connection and the power of your phone.

I was trying to find a link when I clicked on Internet browser on my phone that would take me straight to Nimbuzz or somewhere where I could just click on Nimbuzz on my mobile and it would take me to a screen to log in, but cant. When I go to my history I can find it and log in from there. Im having a problem logging in, the screen comes up and it says ‘an error has occured please try again later’
    I was logged in before and was tryig to call a skype contact that was on line – I was on line too, but it only gave me the option to ‘chat’ with that contact and i wasnt able to call. Please can you help? Thanks

  39. @ Nimbuzz Support: The lengthy or stalled login is a real issue with v1.5 and not a mobile network issue, nor an issue with the power of the phone. If I delete v1.5 of Nimbuzz and install v1.1 the login process is quick and loads Nimbuzz fine. Perhaps the new version of java Nimbuzzz interacts and communicates with the Nimbuzz server slightly differently than v1.1 does. I hope this information helps the developers fix the issue. Thanks.

  40. P.S. I forgot to mention that the login issue seems to start after Nimbuzz has been launched and exited a few times. A fresh installation of Nimbuzz v1.5 always connects and loads fine for me. Subsequent login attempts are problematic.

  41. Success! I know what’s causing the login issue now. I’ve done more testing and discovered that it only happens when “Sign in automatically” is selected in the login screen for Nimbuzz. Once selected, exiting and launching Nimbuzz again results in it being slow and forever attempting to connect. Manually clicking to sign in works fine and Nimbuzz remains quick and responsive.

    If you use http connection the Nimbuzz application doesn’t work and sends you to the Nimbuzz wap version which you can access via your mobile browser directly.
    On the wap version you can’t call but you can chat with your Skype contacts.

  44. hi,unfortunately nimbuzz is hacked with bombusmod,bombus avalon,baby killer and bomber,,,and same apps,they work with xml codes and connect to nimbuzz server and do everything! destroy rooms,dc users,send unknown msg,stand an id online for ever etc. one iranian site is explain all this hack methods! the site is that http://www.langroud20.jbg.ir please help us,it really hurt nimbuzz!

  45. I have 1.1 installed on my blackberry storm 9530. Everytime I launch the app it asks me to upgrade to the latest version 1.5. I say yes, I’m directed to the download page and when I click download, it tries to install 1.1 again. Any thoughts or is 1.5 not supported yet for the storm 9530?

  48. I have just upgraded Nimbuzz mobile to version 1.5, and it stopped working. It cannot start.
    The error message is “It uses too much memory”.
    Phone: SonyEriccson K610i

    There are 11 MB free in phone memory, 871 MB in memstick.

    Nothing is run in the background. It worked with the earlier version.

    I have read that someone else has the same problem with other model of SonyEriccson.

    I kindly ask you to make the necessary corrections in the software, as soon as possible.

    Could you make downloadable the earlier version, so I can downgrade?

    I am using my mobile, my nokia 5130 xpressmusic phone. I am overseas now and really trying to find a way to use Nimbuzz to use skype so i can call my contacts, at the moment I can only chat with them. Please help me!! I got the text message from nimbuzz = i signed up, logged on and am in nimbuzz and have my skype contacts but cant call any of them!! really frustrating!! please help!

    The java version 1.5 although was available for Blackberry devices didn’t work very good on them. For this reason we are releasing soon a version specific for Blackberry devices which will work properly.
    In the mean while we recommend you to downgrade back to the version 1.1 which is available on our website for the Blackberry devices.

    The Wap version doesn’t have the call feature enabled. Your phone has a Java OS. Our Java version only supports chat but no VOIP calling, and unfortunately for this reason on the Nimbuzz Wap version or on the application itself the call wouldn’t work for you.

  57. Just a couple of other bugs I thought I’d mention. Not very serious bugs, but one could be potentially embarrassing for users. Firstly, an instant message sometimes goes to the wrong contact or room. It seems to happen during those random kicks that are going on in the chat rooms these days. Basically, if you click to send the message and are simultaneously kicked from a room, the message will go to whatever the first chat tab is. Secondly, trying to create a room that already exists results in Nimbuzz freezing completely. Thanks for this great application, though. I’m constantly recommending Nimbuzz to friends, family and people I know. Keep up the good work.

  63. @Nimbuzz Support: My bug reports were concerning the new java v1.5 Nimbuzz. My phone is a Skypephone S2 aka Amoi 8512. I know my phone isn’t officially supported, but that doesn’t mean the bugs I found are invalid. Anyway, I’m still enjoying this new version, so thanks for the improvements.

    How many people are you talking to on the same time when it happens? Are on both IM chat and chatrooms at the same time when it happens?
    Can you please provide more details on what exactly you do when it happens?
    Normally when you try to create a room that already exists you would receive a message saying that the room exists. Can you please try it again and let us know if this issue persists?

  66. i downloaded nimbuzz the new and old version, but it does not work in ma phone, am using C905, the software are installed properly but when it goes to connection testing, its hangs up, on the screne it shows “testing your connection” and it dont forward for there, i used nimbuzz with my old phone K800i and it worked properly in that phone but C905 not working, please help me i love using nimbuzz,

    Note that Nimbuzz does not work on Http connection. Only Socket.

  78. Hi Nimbuzz support, I have blackberry bold 9000, i’ve downloaded your client through my bb browser, it installed perfect and works great with one huge problem – it wont work in the background :(

    If I press the back button the app doesn’t stay on, it disconnects. My previous phone was E71 and it worked flowless and had a “hide” mode, this bb version has only “close”.

    Any thoughts?

    The “hide” feature is not available for Java versions of Nimbuzz like the one that you are using for BlackBerry.

    a long press on the bb menu button
    brings the open tasks, so i chose
    home screen and guess what –
    nimbuzz works in the background !!!

    We currently don’t support VOIP calling on Java devices. This is not because of our limitation, but due to the device’s limitation itself.

    We use the best capacity of each device but on Java devices unfortunately is still not possible to develop VOIP.

    After you installed Nimbuzz on your mobile phone you have to test the connection.

  93. I must say guy’s… previously used the v1.1 and it worked just fine. Tried v1.5 for the last 3 months but for whatever reason ya’ll messed it up. I use a Motorola Rokr E8.

    1. Once your finger slightly brushes over the Omega wheel on the Rokr E8 it opens the chat screen which makes it hard to go to the contact list screen. I.e trying to press the left/right softkey to cancel or open menu when u wanna close a chat/return to contact list. On v1.1 this was not an issue.

    2. My biggest gripe is the new “New Chat” tone you guys installed.. i mean what were u guys thinking? V1.1 had a nice and audible 3 beeps when new chat/msg received.. v1.5 just has an inaudible tone that sounds like someone’s half hearted attempts at shuffling their feet on the ground.. cant explain.. just crappy. Can’t believe you guys actually approved that tone as sufficient when u signed off the v1.5. Ya’ll should have used either the one from v1.1 or the “New Message” tone on v1.5 for both Chat and Message. Thought it was only me being fussy but I’ve seen loads of people moan about this. I even tried to modify myself and was able to convert the jar file to a rar file… found the message tones in the v1.1 and copied them to transfer to v1.5 but the one v1.5 is nowhere to be found.

    Only thing i found good bout the v1.5 was the direct access to chats on the contact list screen but not worth the switch.

    v1.1 is king for me.

    But you know what i did?
    I deleted all the settings and then i called the operators (service providers) they sent me new settings again and Installed them and after that, i got off my mobile for a minute and then i did on it and was working quite nicely.

    Could you please let us know if those contacts that appear offline are in fact “idle” or displaying or a different status rather than “Online”?
    Are your contacts able to see you as Online on Facebook when you are logged via Nimbuzz?
    Please check if your status as default on Facebook is set as offline (when you log in directly on the Facebook page).

    Sign In > scroll down > select Settings > Change Password.

    On PC client, you can change your password by choosing:

    I just want to tell you people a good suggestion. You and everybody know the fact that Most of this world people use java version mobiles.
    You people make softwares always serving a special class (expensive mobile holders only). Rather you should make a software that can work on all the mobiles. e.g Nimbuzz voice (viop) call option is not working in the java mobiles and most of the people use java mobiles. So some of the people are enjoying the voice call options but most of the people remain watching only.

The same SIM and Nimbuzz account works OK on a Nokia 5800 Xpress Music, but on the Samsung SGH-Z240, it freezes at the “testing your connection” screen. Any suggestion?

    Check with your provider if your data plan includes the possibility to connect to applications that use Socket connection instead of Http.
    Nimbuzz works only with socket connection at the moment, and if your provider just allows you to browse sites that use Http connection, you won’t be able to use Nimbuzz.

    Note some operators might block the voice over ip functionality that we offer, and the application just sends you a warning message that if the voice quality is not good enough this could be the cause of it.

Nimbuzz works very well on my phone..i’m currently using the 2.04(0) version. the problem is that the facebook chat only shows the first 400 person on my friend list in fb so when someone with the name starts from “z” or even “w” in my fb friendlist send a chat, i can’t actually see who they are and i don’t even have the chance to find them in my friendlist in nimbuzz. this is very frustrating.     Your device is using a Java version of Nimbuzz which does not include the calling feature, hence you cannot make or receive calls via Nimbuzz.
    If you get “not enough memory” as an error, this might be cause some devices like yours sometimes do not have enough memory to run or support Nimbuzz application.
    We suggest you to try the wap version just pointing your mobile browser to wap.nimbuzz.com

    Due to shifting priorities and more focus on improving the voice and IM (non-chatroom) experience we don’t have any plans on the short or mid term for chatrooms on the PC client.

  208. i am using w810i .. earlier nimbuzz was working fine in my phone…. later it asked for update the nimbuzz application… after the updated application installed, my application gets crashed, mobile is getting restarted.. i can able to login… pls let me know..

    steps i do:

    i will login
    will go to main menu where i can see the contacts…
    after 1min or lesser than that.. my phone is getting restarted..
    the problem is not with my phone.. becoz i am other applications also.. it works fine without crashing..

    If you get “not enough memory” as an error, this might be the cause because some devices do not have enough memory to run or support Nimbuzz.

  233. I’m using sony ericsson zylo(w20). It seems nimbuzz is not available for this model though i was able to download it and use it by putting my phone model as w200. But then i got a software upgrade and it when i downloaded it again, it does not support sending photos. It says “Your device does not support clicking pictures through a third party like nimbuzz.” It was working fine before the upgrade. Please help.

    If your device does not support sending pics via a third party app like Nimbuzz you should either check your device settings or contact your device manufacturer.
    this seems to be a device restriction, not from our application.

  241. Please add video call feature for symbian devices. Sice Fring provides the feature therefore I have to use Fring.
    But Fring does not provide other feature like free call to yahoo,gmail so I have to use nimbuzz.
    If video call for symbian is added to nimbuzz, it will be a five star software.
    Also please add free call to facebook

    i try to run nimbuzz but after a while it dose not work and show me an error : “internet connection is unavailable, please check your setting and try again ”

    i search the web and realize that some other have this problem on lg prada 3
    i try other versions of nimbuzz but get the same result

    i trust on my network connection because i have nimbuzz on my older phone 5800 nokia and on my pc and both of them work properly
    please help me because i love nimbuzz and need it on my phone prada 3.
