snag-0081

Results are in from our blog poll (see question and results above). Thank you for your time and for your votes.

We are happy to see that 45% of out users are calling abroad more than 10 times a month and 17% are calling more between 5  and 10 times. This means that 62% of you are calling more than 5 times a month abroad and probably saving a ton of money on each of these calls by using Nimbuzz.

We would like to encourage all of you to call abroad whenever you want and however many times a month or a day you need to using Nimbuzz, so you can save a ton of money on your international calls.

This is just a reminder for the 39% of of you that make less international phone calls : “Hey, if you ever need  to contact somebody far-far away remember to use Nimbuzz, for free calls to your IM buddies, via the mobile and PC or Mac”.

If you need to call regular mobile phone and land line numbers, you can always use one of the Nimbuzz SIP partners or NimbuzzOut. internationall-calls

    Thanks for your interest.
On Nimbuzz you can call to your IM buddies for free. You just need to make sure that you have a good strength signal wifi or 3G connection (flat rate data plan) and that your buddy is enabled to receive calls.
Currently you can call to Yahoo, MSN, Gtalk and Skype contacts.
On SIP calls you can call to landline numbers subject to your SIP provider rates.
Please let us know if you have more questions!
    Kind regards.

We currently do not support VOIP calling on Nimbuzz Mobile for Java devices like yours. This is not a Nimbuzz limitation but the device’s which does not have enough power to support internet calling. We will be pleased to implement it as soon as this limitation is solved.

Before, you were able to call to buddies because you were using the Dial up calling (non VOIP calling) which connects you to your buddy subject to your operator charges.
We disabled this feature to come up with an improved solution in the near future.

Please let us know if you have more questions.

Your device is using a Java version of Nimbuzz, which does not support the calling feature.
To learn more about the calling feature on Java devices, read the following forum thread:

    Thanks for reporting to us.
Please note that we don’t support VOIP calling on Java devices like the Q3 and for this reason you receive this error message. Before you were using the Dial up Calling which was a feature that connected you to your IM buddy subject to your operator charges. Based on user feedback and usage, we disabled the Dial up feature to come up with an improved version in the near future.

Let us know if you have more questions!

We actually do not support VOIP calling on Nimbuzz Mobile for Java devices, like yours.
This is not a Nimbuzz limitation but the device’s which does not have enough power to support internet calling.
We will be pleased to implement it as soon as this limitation is solved.
We removed the Dial-Up VoIP call option to develop an improved version for the near future. You can still call your buddies via VoIP on 2.5G, 3G and Wifi networks, but the call back option for 2G networks has been removed.
Let us know if you have more questions.

VoIP calling via 3G is possible using Nimbuzz and NimbuzzOut as long as your network provider and manufacturer allow this behavior.
Please contact your network provider to ask if your network is restricted to use this features.

Whenever i try I get an error msg saying, ‘sorry, we couldn’t recognise this phone number, check the entry or re-enter’. Could you tell me why am i getting this error n how it can be solved? Plz help

    Jasmine February 14th, 2010
  41. @Jasmine
Currently we use a system where we verify the phone number based on criteria for that country. We check this using area codes and number length.

We are changing and improving that often, so we suggest you to try again to register your phone number in case you get an error and verify as well the country you choose.

We are aware that there are some trouble with some countries, and we are working in order to solve this issue.

If you continue having problems with this option, please let us know via mail to support@nimbuzz.com the following information:

    - which is your country
    - provider do you have
    - phone number
