We are livin’ the Social Media Times, and social media is about sharing, listening, joining the conversation and of course real time communication.

And because here at Nimbuzz, we believe in the social media values, we have decided to make a few changes to the Nimbuzz blogs that will empower you to be more connected and give you the possibility of sharing the latest Nimbuzz news with your friends, with just one click!

Here are the 4 great features that I’m proud to present you:

  1. Mobile Blog version
  2. TweetMeme and Facebook buttons
  3. Social Media Sharing buttons (I love them :D )
  4. Avatars in the comment section

And now to talk a little bit about each:

1. Mobile Blog

Social media is about conversation, and we want to show you we listen. In the last months we have received many requests from you to optimize the blog for reading it on your mobile phone and … we did it. Now it  looks good and it’s readable on your mobile phone, iPod Touch or the new Nokia  N900 :D (lucky you if you have it).

If you are reading this post from your computer and still want to get an idea about the look and feel of the mobile version, you can do that by  clicking on the “go to mobile version” right below the flags in the right sidebar. That should do the trick ;) .

2. TweetMeme and Facebook buttons

With these 2 buttons you can easily share the Nimbuzz news with your friends with just one click, so you also become the broadcaster ;) . The TweetMeme button let’s you see how many people have already tweeted the blog post and even who shared the post previously, by clicking on the number in the white square.

We all spend a lot of time on our Facebook profile catching up with friends, sharing pictures and interesting news. The new Facebook button will help us and you to share the news we like on our Facebook wall. All you have to do is to click on the button, login and click post! Pretty simple,  right :D ? Remember sharing is caring!!

3. Social Media sharing buttons – my favorites

Yes, I like them a lot. They look really nice and they are super useful (we have been inspired by the best)!

If you got to the end of our blog post and you liked it than you can share it: Digg, Twitter,  StumbleUpon, Delicious, Facebook, MySpace, Google Bookmarks, Reddit, see reaction on Technorati or share it somewhere else with the  Share This button.

When we created that Digg account, StumbleUpon, Delicious or any of the other ones we did it because we wanted to find out the hottest news  and to be one of the guys who get recognized for delivering valuable information to the community!

That’s why these buttons are really useful, now you can easily become the one who gets the latest news to your friends. All you have to do is pick where you want to share them :D !

Try it out and let us know if you like them!

4. Avatars in the comment section

Add a face to your voice (comments)! Now whenever you comment on the Nimbuzz blog you can display a picture next to you name. You can do that by signing in with Facebook Connect – your Facebook profile picture will show up -  or you can use a service like Gravatar (you need to make a Gravatar account).

I hope you will like these changes as much we do and remember to follow us on Twitter for the latest and greatest  :)!

PS: Try the brand new social media buttons below for sharing the news  ;)

  4. I use Nokia 5700 Xpress Music. Which is obviously symbian mobile. You know i always use mobile version because i don’t have stable pc connection. Today i notice something. Something that everybody noticed but has enough of complaining. I know its pretty bad to complain, but its a shame that nimbuzz has been here for so long and nothing has been yet to stop people from flooding, sending repetitive messages. People whom i don’t even know, floods my private chat together my inbox with 3rd party softwares. As a result i’m not able to chat, my inbox get jammed. I’m fully aware developers are working hard. I’m also aware this is a FREE software. But please lets us know if something is done concerning the security of users. Because we want to chat in peace. This software is great. But we have mentality of crazy people which create troubles. And there must be something we can do to defend ourselves inorder to have a peaceful chat. As those updates like smileys, social stuff seems great. But you all agree with me, that security is a greater concern. I know my english level aint great. But i wrote something that every nimbuzz users face and would want to be done.

We are currently working in order to solve this issue. In order to investigate further, can you please let us know the following: how did you receive those flooding messages? Via inbox , chatroom or chat messages?
Can you let us know the user id of this person (via our support email)?
Do you have the date and approximate time it happened?
We count with your collaboration in order to investigate your issue.
Send an email to us at support@nimbuzz.com
    Kind regards.
