  2. I’d like to see Skype Chat Channels. Its annoying to see every message typed into a chat room as a private conversation.

  3. How can I tell if my version of Nimbuzz should be updated? There doesn’t seen to be any information I can find which indicates the version being offered

  4. This is great! Waiting for this for a long time.

Love the app but without SkypeOut and the fact that it kept reconnecting kept me away from the app. Much better than Fring which is VERY buggy!

    Good job to the team.

One complaint – If I am having a conversation with person X on my computer (on skype) and then I leave my computer and switch on Nimbuzz, the ENTIRE conversation is replayed on Nimbuzz. This is VERY annoying if the conversation was long.

Haven’t tested this on the updated version yet so it may have been fixed.

  5. I’d also like to add that there is an annoying “feature”. Basically, when I make a call the ringing sound is VERY loud and it seems to be pegged to the “in-call volume”. However, the ringing occurs over the speakers. Similarly the tone signalling a connected call (the BEEP – BEEP – BEEP) is also very loud.

Could you please make sure that this isn’t played over the speakers as it is an annoyance.

I have to reduce the in-call volume before making a call and then increase it once the call connects to ensure people around me don’t get irritated.

  8. Thanks for the quick response I have another small problem.

I noticed that there is a new option in the settings to “display contact picture”. I have this selected, however, the photos remain greyed out. I don’t really need the photos per se but I thought I’d note it since it does not seem to be working on my phone

You will receive a pop-up notification when login.
If you do not receive this message, you can try to download again teh application directly from get.nimbuzz.com or from the Android Market

NB: I was having this problem on stock 1.5 (previous version) and on the updated HTC Sense UI (also previous version).

  12. Hi,
Well done and thank you so much!

    Issues:
    1) I’m not able to delete any of my contacts (ICQ, yahoo, skype).
    2) I have stored IM’s for each contact (google.contacts), when I press this (e.g. ICQ) contact I’m expecting to open it in IM client (Meebo has it but… N is better ;) ) but nothing happens.

    I have Android 1.6 on G1.

    Regards.

  13. Once i login on my HTC Hero it is straight into trying to reconnect. And it fails. This is even worse than before the update. This is the real problem the app faces -stablity. Everything else is grand (nimbuzz out would be nice, but skype out is grand), but it’s all useless without stability. I love this app on other phones, just want it to work well on android. Come on guys. :D

  14. Let it Sleep!

I love this app but I have two issues that prevent me from using it:
    1. It prevents my phone from sleeping. This kills the battery very fast. I know it is possible to have an app stay connected while the phone is sleeping, both Sipdroid and Fring do this.
    2. It does not show caller ID on SkypeIn Calls.

Thanks for an almost PERFECT app! Fix those two issues and it will be.

  15. Figured it out: doesn’t seem to work on WiFi. Can only login on 3g, if i turn on wifi it goes into perpetual reconnecting and never connects. Maybe it’s just this wifi spot, i’ll see later on. Anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas for a fix?

    Cian February 3rd, 2010
  16. @moob
We currently do not support deleting contacts from other IM contacts.
For that you will need to delete the contacts directly from the IM client in which they belong to. After that they should not appear when you login on Nimbuzz.
In regards of your second query, could you please be more specific?
Do you mean press on contacts on your phonebook or on your contact list once you are logged in?
    Let us know.

  18. Hi,
Ok, it does seem to be something to do with the wifi connection i was on yesterday, as it’s working fine on my home wifi. And, it seems to be stable, which is absolutely brilliant :-D

Yesterday i was on the wifi in my university, (University of Limerick, Ireland). Maybe some ports or something are blocked. But i think it worked pre-update, and i know fring works on it.

Let me know if i can help in any way, getting more info from the university or anything. Feel free to contact me directly too.

    Cheers,
    Cian

  20. Maybe I should clarify….if the caller is in your Skype contact list it shows. If they are not I would expect it to show the number of the incoming call, it does not. Also a missed call notification would be nice.

    DarylW February 4th, 2010

    On my phonebook.
To reproduce this feature you can install Meebo. Than go to the phone contact list (by google) and edit some contact. There is an option to add IM clients. Save. View that contact and press e.g. icq. It is opened by meebo.

This is great because you don’t care “how” but “who” at the first time. I mean: I want to tell my girlfriend I’ll go to pub. I’ll find her in contact list. Ahh, she isn’t online so I’ll send SMS or make a call.

This idea is not mine. It comes from Synergy. ;)

    Regards.

  23. I have the same problem as abhiroopb, as far as contacts photos are concerned. They remain greyed out (in Skype contact, for example).
Strangely enough, until yesterday, I could see them (and I had already updated my nimbuzz release to the latest available, version 1.3.0 release 4607.4615).
    Simply, they desappeared…
My phone is a HTC Hero.

  24. Also, the “Nimbuzz” sound for incoming calls is really really low even with cell volume at maximum. Could you raise it please?
And, VERY IMPORTANT, the phone does NOT vibrate on incoming calls (while it does on incoming text messages).
My phone is a HTC Hero.
    Thanx.

    jack000 February 5th, 2010
  25. Sorry, I’ve got to correct myself! After a day of absence, contact pictures are misteriously back! :-) )
    Dunno why all this!

Check the no-vibration-thing on incoming calls, though (and low volume for Nimbuzz ringtone).
Other than that, it’s great! I dumped Fring!

  30. The latest release (don’t know if it’s a coincidence) gives me problems in logging in with Skype: Settings > Accounts > Skype most of the times keeps trying to log in, the grey/green circle keeps turning around forever and doesn’t turn into the grey check mark, and all Skype contacts remain offline even if they are actually online (checked on my pc). It happens often :-(

On the contrary, I didn’t notice the same problem for MSN (even if I use it rarely, so I can’t garantee).

  38. Hi, I’m experiencing the same problems as rizzly, that the Huawei u8220 doesn’t work with nimbuzz. there is no sound on both ends of the call. I’m trying to call my nexus one which works well with nimbuzz. It’s the same operator so that shouldn’t be the problem. The Huawei u8220 (t-mobile pulse in the UK) is currently running android 1.5 if that helps.
