Good news for the owners of a Java mobile: there is a new Nimbuzz version(1.6) available and it’s waiting for you to download. [Download Nimbuzz for Java]

UI improvements for touch screen mobiles.

The new version brings kinetic scrolling and bigger touch areas to Samsung and LG touch screen mobiles. We also listened to your requests and now we support: LG Prada, LGVX9100, LG Voyager, LG Vu, Samsung SPH-M540, Samsung Star and Samsung Jet.

Change the language without another download

A great thing about this version is that you can change the language of the application after you have already installed it on your mobile, no more reinstalls needed. Hi i’m from india. First i wish to congratulate the Nimbuzz team for winning best IM design n developers award. I’m a very big fan of Nimbuzz. I’d been using Nimbuzz in nokia 3110c since september 2009. Recently i’d changed my phone to sony ericsson w610i. I downloaded Nimbuzz in my new phone n tried opening the application it shows an error ‘this application uses too much memory’ n the only option shown is to click ‘ok’ n it gets closed. I request you to kindly help me in using Nimbuzz again on my new phone.

If you get: “not enough memory” as an error, this might be cause some devices like yours sometimes do not have enough heap memory to run or support Nimbuzz application.

That’s why we have a lite version for some devices, in the lite version you can chat with your buddies but the chatroom feature is not available and the call feature also not.
If the lite application is not available on our site, we recommend you to use the Wap version of Nimbuzz directly on your phone browser going to wap.nimbuzz.com

Thanks. But the wap version is not that fast n easy to use. Also does it need more than 700MB of free space to run the app? Plz provide some alternatives. Or send the link to download the lite version as you mentioned.

Hi i m usin nimbuzz from last two years n i luv it. Cant live widout nimbuzz. I will go crazy if nimbuzz will stop workin for 1 day. Hey y dont to add callin feature to s40 platform n sony ericssion platform i will be amazin n right now i m gettin so much trouble connectin skype. It keeps on sayin connectin for hours. I made this comment on another thread but should have put it here.

I tried installing Nimbuzz on a Samsung Jet but it crashes after the Java loading screen and it gives an error “Java error. Invalid format”

I’m using the latest firmware.

The firmware can be checked using the code *#5239870*#

I recommend a firmware update in this phone and check again.

I’ve tried version 1.6 from both getjar.com & from get.nimbuzz.com

After I click on Nimbuzz, it goes to the standard Java – loading… page and then crashes while that page is still showing.

The firmware that you list above that works is actually an older firmware from June 2009. From what you’ve said, it doesn’t actually work with the newer firmwares (IK) and judging by the errors I’m getting, it doesn’t work with the latest firmware (JA).

Downgrading to the firmware that works would actually mean some users losing some phone functions.

I have been using nimbuzz on my sony ericsson w610i for quite long time but now it shows ‘not enough memory to run the application’ error .although nimbuzz is only of 330 kb in size yet it showing memory error but i can use the mobile dictionary which is of 900 kb.And even i can use more than 5 application at once of enough size .i don know why i m not able to run nimbuzz.plz let me know regarding this

In relation to hf’s post, he is already running the latest firmware. You mentioned previously that Nimbuzz works using the following firmware:
S8000L+VD+IF3_IG
Modem:M6246AKPUOL120026_3G_02
SHP: VPP R5 2.1.1
CSC: S8000PSNIF3

This is actually an extremely old firmware from June 2009. There has been at least 7 major firmware upgrades since IF3 was released. While I do understand that you’re working on this, it’s incorrect to tell people that they should upgrade to this firmware. You’re actually telling them to downgrade. Since IF3, there has been a signficant number of improvements in battery life, applications, speed and touchscreen responsiveness. Users will lose these by returning to IF3.

Do you have a long list of contacts?
Are you able to login from another client with the same account? on PC or Webchat?
Could you try that and then unregister one of your accounts and try to login again on the Mobile?

Check also with your network provider if you are allowed to browse and use applications that require socket connection, Nimbuzz does not work with http and if your provider doe snot allow you to use socket, you wont be able to connect.

using nimbuzz on my nokia5800 is great! sending file is perfect! I hope sending photo on my Ipod Touch is fixed on v1.6, (as it was failed all the time).

Maybe you can include send SMS (to mobile) in your future update, and just deduct it on voip account, just like voips like budgetsip.

Hi! I already use v1.6 on my Ipod Touch. the send photo still not working. There’s still a message: ‘Oops! A server error was received. Could not upload file (error code=403).’ It’s always like this when I try sending photo. Hopefully, this could be remedied on your update.

Apart from this, Nimbuzz on Ipod Touch is excellent!

Kudos to Nimbuzz for the IM award received!

Hi, what can I do? Nimbuzz 1.6 doesn’t work on my LG KU990. I downloaded it on nimbuzz mobile browser. The site recognised my cellphone automatically, but the application doesn’t open: when I try to open it, the screen becomes black and then it returns to the applications folder as if nothing had happened. Instead version 1.5 worked fine.
I want to use nimbuzz again, but I can’t! help please!

Hi there I’m using LG KU990 Viewty, as I said earlier in previous post I don’t get no error message, because when I try to open the Nimbuzz v.1.6 app my screen goes black then it returns to application and games folder as if nothing had happened. Plus when I downloaded the app from getjar.com it opens the app, but I get error message saying “connection failed time out” so I think you guys needs to look in this problem or it will be nice if you help me out with connection settings for Nimbuzz socket. i am going to flash my LG GT505 from vodafone, spain. I’ve read that vodafone edited the firmware to dont let the java apps access to wifi connection and force the users to pay for GPRS or 3G connection ¬¬… i think that’s the problem with nimbuzz in my LG. Once i flash it with the default firmware from LG i’ll inform u if it worked… but my question is: ¿is there an specific version of nimbuzz for my LG GT505?, because i want to use the call feature with my friends from skype

hello there
i have several problems with nimbuzz on my gt b5310 (corby pro):
1) as a preposter already mentioned the screen wont rotate when i slide out the keyboard
2)when i press the “n” button on the physical keyboard the screen shows a spanish n which is REALLY annoying since i cant write properly and continously have to switch between touchscreen and keyboard
3) i dont know if that is suppose to be but the bar on the buttom of the screen (arrows, okay button and 123) is ABSOLUTELY redundant! it simply takes space which one could use for chatting, showing contacts etc.

i would be really grateful if you gave me an advise how to fix the rotating problem and the “n” button

i downloaded nimbuzz via the m.nimbuzz.com page and run the latest version

@Silas, In relation to point number 3, I believe that’s a Samsung issue rather than anything to do with Nimbuzz. I think it can be overcome but it would require a custom version of Nimbuzz to be tailor made for Samsung phones. If you use other generic Java apps, it also appears.

Never mind the above. I guess my first comment wasn’t posted for some reason.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that v1.6 is very quick, both in launching and operation, but it disconnects very often. I’ve switched back to v1.5 as it stays connected for hours on end. I’ve tested v1.6 on the SE C702 and Samsung U600 with the same results.

Another problem I’ve had is rather strange. I previously had my own Nimbuzz nick added to my contact list, but decided to delete it a couple of weeks ago. The thing is, every time I enter a new Nimbuzz session the nick is back in my contact list. Every single time it’s back after being deleted in the previous session. Also, the nick is shown in the contact info window as alpha-X-geek@n instead of @nimbuzz.com. Very strange problem. Any advice or action to fix it would be very welcome.

In regards of the connection, we will investigate it and try to reproduce this issue, which type of connection do you use?
About the contact still appearing on your list, could you let us know from which client did you try to remove it? was it using the mobile or PC client?
Could you try to remove the contact again but from the PC client this time?

I’m on the 3 network in the UK, using a 3G or better connection. Like I said, v1.5 can stay connected for hours on end, so I doubt it’s a mobile network issue.

I’ve tried removing the contact from my contact list using wap Nim and java Nim, both v1.5 and v1.6. I don’t have access to the desktop variant for now, but I’ll try that when I next get a chance to.

I wasn’t quite accurate above. I did try to delete the nick in wap Nim, but it won’t give me the option to delete it. The nick became corrupted somehow I think. Like I said previously, it shows up as alpha-X-geek@n instead of alpha-X-geek@nimbuzz.com. Nim v1.5 thinks it is a Jabber nick and Nim v1.6 correctly recognises it as a Nim nick, but still can’t permanently delete it.

Perhaps you could replicate the problem by trying to add a Nimbuzz nickname incorrectly with @n at the end of the nick. That’s not how this issue occured in my situation, but it may help you come up with a way to let Nim delete corrupted or incorrectly entered nicknames.

Hello..Y didnt you include Samsung Jet to have voice call capability via Nimbuzz? I am just so disgusted of buying this phone..But anyway I want to say NIMBUZZ my appreciation and I hope you could do something to make samsung Jet work with video/voice calls.Thanks!

Recently I saw that call option in Nimbuzz has gone.

I can only chat.. cant call to my gtalk buddies.

You should be able to call your Gtalk friends, unless they are logged in Gmail, not gtalk.
Make sure you are using the latest nimbuzz version available (2,4)

sir i am using the nimbuzz application for a long time now, i had recently purchased Samsung Corby Pro 5310 but the nimbuzz application does not auto rotate for use with the Qwerty Keyb board, Please help other wise will have to use the default palringo

Sorry, your device is using a Java version of Nimbuzz which does not support calling, so receiving and placing calls via Nimbuzz won’t be possible.

I hve samsung corby pro…. m usin latest version on nimbuzz…but i cant use my camera thru nimbuzz to take a profile pic…it says my fone dosent allow 3rd party to use camera but i could use camera at ebuddy without any problem…..

We connect in a different way than other applications to your Operating system, if your device gives you an error message stating that it is not allowed the use of the camera for 3rd party applications, this won’t be possible to implement.
