2 days ago we released a new update for our Blackberry version and so far we got plenty of positive feedback
! Thanks a lot and keep that coming
.
Another question that you asked a lot is “What devices are supported?”.
Good news about that: with the new release we have increased the number of supported devices to 60, adding to the list older models like: 7100g, 7230, 8300, 8330, Pearl 8100, and many more.
To check if your devices is on the list click here, select the make (BlackBerry) of your mobile from the first drop-down menu and in the second drop-down menu you can see if your model is on the list.
To continue with more good news, after the BlackBerry and iPhone updates from earlier today
, we would like to let you know that once again your vote is needed. Help us win the Best Mobile Applications – Entertainment/Social Networking app title at CTIA Emerging Technology Awards 2010. [Click to vote] – you will need to register.
As you saw just a few days ago, your voice counts: Big Time! Thanks to you, Nimbuzz won : Best Mobile IM, Best Im Design, IM developers of the year. What do you say? Shall we get another prize
??
Good news for iPhone users: now you can make free VOIP calls over 3G on iPhone with Nimbuzz!
Yes, after months of waiting it’s finally happened: the Wi-Fi hunt is over. Now you can call all your friends from Nimbuzz, Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live Messenger or Gtalk for free, using just your 3G internet connection and Nimbuzz!
You will also cut down your international calling costs with NimbuzzOut (NimbuzzOut rates). Now you can use your NimbuzzOut credits to call your family and friends from abroad really(really) cheap from wherever you are.
If last week we had good news for Nimbuzz Java users, when we announced our latest update optimized for Java touchscreens, this week we come back with more good news: We fixed the BlackBerry connection issue! Yey! [Download link]
Last year in December we announced our first native application for Blackberry’s . Unfortunately a few weeks after the new BB 5.0 O.S. upgrade went live and some pieces of our code didn’t worked with the new O.S., we had to go back to the “drawing board“
.
Although it took longer than expected, we did it and now all of you can enjoy running Nimbuzz on Blackberry.
Here is a cool new app for your Android mobile: Google Gesture Search.
Gesture Search from Google Labs lets you search your Android-powered device by drawing alphabet gestures on the touch screen. It allows you to quickly find a contact, a bookmark, an application, or a music track from hundreds or thousands of items, all in one place. Currently the app is available only for Android 2.0 and above but I hope the rest of us will be able to use it as well, soon!
When I first heard about it I got really excited, it sounded like wherever you are in the mobile phone menu/homescreen you would magically start drawing letters on the screen and you would get the results on the fly. Well it’s not like that, you actually have to install the app and every time you want to search something you will open the app and start writing, still cool but… not as I imagined it.

Yes, rumors have it that soon our fans in India will be able to use Nimbuzz on a brand new Nexus One.
Although there is not much info on this yet, we know that the Nexus One that will be available in India will not have all the features the US version. This one will be a stripped down version of the original device.
At the moment the Indian Smartphone arena is dominated by Nokia and BlackBerry, and the biggest challenge for Google will be to come out with a product that has enough features and a competitive price. Since the phone’s reputation is pretty big all around the world, all they need to do to make it a best seller is to find the perfect balance between the features they offer and price they ask for it.
Here is an interesting news, a recent report from market research firm In-Stat estimates the total number of mobile VoIP users will be reach 288 million by the end of 2013. They also divide the subscriber in 3 big categories:
Yesterday, Nokia unveiled the new Nokia C5 mobile, which I would describe in just 3 words : Simple, Social, Affordable.
After talking about WM7 and Symbian 3 last week, it seemed quite impossible for me to think that I would like another S60 mobile so much, but life is full of surprises … isn’t it? This mobile looks extremely good and I find the stainless steel really cool and well polished.
The new mobile (which is actually a new series of mobiles) enters the Nokia lineup in a very good position. Yesterday Nokia have announce that the Nokia Ovi store is now seeing 22 app downloads per second and from the latest Admob report we can see that Symbian OS remains the most popular operating system in Southeast Asia and accounted for 77% of smartphone requests in Q4 2009.
