iPad Alternatives
Of course we all got excited when the new iPad finally hit the streets and we got a chance to play with it after so much waiting. But now, a natural question comes to mind: What else is/will be there? What are the iPad alternatives?
Looking around I found some really interesting concepts. Although not yet available fore sale, these are coming soon and they pack some pretty cool features. And since the iPad launch outside US was delayed until the end of May[more info] the alternatives below might be more interesting for some of us, especially since some are already complaining about the new device.
The WePad
The WePad packs a 11,6“ 1366 x 768 Pixels color multi-touch display with a 1,66 GHz Intel Atom processor which will ensure a great experience for web browsing, watching movies and running apps. The tablet can run multiple application in the same time and to differentiate from Apple even more is also equipped with a 1,3 Mp camera support for Java / Flash / Adobe AIR, 2 x USB integrated and a card reader. The device will be available sometime in July 2010. And since it will be powered by Android you will be able to enjoy Nimbuzz chats, calls and more on it

HP Slate
Another great presence in this space is the HP Slate, which was introduced at CES 2010. It has a 8.9-inch multi-touch display and will be powered by Windows 7. The device has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom 530 processor with 1GB DDR2 and either 32GB or 64GB. The storage can be storage extended with SD cards. The slate comes also with a front camera , Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and USB 2.0 and HDMI-out. And since is running on Windows 7 we will be able to install Nimbuzz on it

Notion Ink Adam
This is a 10-inch tablet will have a 1GHz processor and some other goodies: 3Mp camera, 3 USB ports, HDMI-out, outputs 1080p resolution and and an amazing promise: 16hours battery life. Ohh, and it also has GPS. We expect it to be launched sometime this summer.
Nokia MeeGo
Are we going to see a tablet from Nokia as well? According to electricpig.co.uk : Yes, sometime around this autumn. This device will most probably run MeeGo OS and for sure it be connected to the OVI store. No specs yet.
The Google tablet

Although just a rumor, it’s to good not to mention. According to a NYT article the tablet will run Android and will be benefit of all the connections Google already has with editors and publishers. This is definitely something worth watching.
