New: Nimbuzz 2.0 for iPhone !

Good news for all you iPhone and iPod Touch users out there, we have a new update ready to download!

With the new Nimbuzz 2.0 we have improved the design, the connection speed and fixed the crashes some of you were experiencing. Here is the list with what’s new:

Much faster sign in and reconnect
Fixed crashes
Design improvements – we have added new icons and updated the overall visual look
Better phonebook accessibility – open the phonebook right from your keypad tab
Improved keypad layout - so you can type the numbers easier
Dual view layout for contact list – Choose between our normal style with big avatars and a basic style without avatars

Also, you can now change the email, phone number and password associated with your account right from the settings menu.

I thoroughly enjoyed the improvements, particularly the new reorganization of the Settings menu, really nice. Perhaps the new basic layout should be further condensed (smaller font size) to fit more visible contacts? The phonebook access has improved but I do not seem to get the name to appear underneath the number after having retrieved it, as you show in your screen capture. Instead I see the price per minute, which is quite convenient but obviously not the same. Finally, I fail to see still the use of the Messages. I only see any content when I send or receive an attachment, but not the latter. What is it really for? I do not miss permanent push, 4 hours seem sufficient (too bad not for Skype), although I am sure you will make good use of the upcoming APIs in iOS 4. Overall congrats for an awesome piece of software. Thanks!

Well….Nimbuzz stopped working all off a sudden on my HTC Desire thru the Edge connection. It used to work fine then it suddenly stopped..i formatted my mobile and installed everything again…still doesnt work..but works thru wifi.. every other thing works fine on my EDGE connection.. except nimbuzz…what is the problem guys??

SIP implementation seems better now. Able to have full duplex conversations. Missing option to transform the + into 00. My SIP provider (betamax) requires it. Also can’t seem to find a way to check if SIP is correctly connected. and missing call history.

What a great quality Voice.
I just tried to make few calls to my friend abroad and they were feeling like we are on local network.
we tried both nimbuzz to nimbuzz and nimbuzz to PSTN.
Awesome voice Quality.( i wonder it was better then direct calling from iphone)

I am using Nimbuzz 2.0 for the iPhone. It seems to disconnect now anytime the phone auto-locks. It wasn’t doing this before, it either remained connected or was preventing the phone from auto-locking.

Also, when I start the app, if it can’t connect to a service (usually Skype or Facebook), it doesn’t seem to try anymore. If you go into accounts, the only option is to “Forget” the account. Why not include a “connect” or “retry connection” button. Otherwise, I have to completely exit the program and restart it. (This often happens when the phone locks, which makes Nimbuzz disconnect, and then it can’t reconnect when I unlock the phone too quickly)

Are you using iPhone 4G or 3G?
Have you enabled the Push Notification settings already?
In regards of the connectivity issues with Facebook & Skype our team is already aware of those and working in order to have it fixed as soon as possible.

Now that iOS4 is out Nimbuzz will be able to take advantage of the VoiP API, so that you can receive calls on Nimbuzz all the time. Will the next version support this?

If you had log into Orkut, go to Settings > Chat, then select “Allow all my Orkut friends to chat with me” and make sure to save the settings; next time you you will login to Gtalk from Nimbuzz you will be able to talk with your friends from Orkut. They will appear online in your buddy list as a Gtalk contact.
We do not support calling your Orkut friends.

The push notifications and the calling feature should work even if you are using the iPhone 2G

Da latest version of nimbuzz crashes on iPhone all da time & also y dnt u giv us da facility to send messages now. We can’t communicate with offline users now & also since these are mobile devices connections drop dramatically all the time so can’t be or can’t accept friends to be all the time. Nimbuzz gives nice features and then once users are enjoying them they remove them. MAY I KNOW Y???

Nimbuzz is crashing while I try to unlock da phone’s screen & try to reply to a received chat. Nimbuzz getting worse by da day. Nimbuzz team I feel going after making money rather than giving a quality app to it’s users. I hv been using nimbuzz for more than 4 years nw n java version is much better which was then. An iPhone app always should hv many more options n much much more robust n coherent. Thumbs down for team nimbuzz

i don’t have any excuse for you not doing that
there are other app support chatrooms like oneteam
and the new paltalk app which support video cams and voice chat in chatrooms i mean common .now i’m wondering why you cant give us what you give on other platform symbian and java.
nimbuzz is very good app unfortunately i have not use it since i upgrade to iphone as many others
so it will be much apperciated if you add chatrooms

Whenever I am on another app (iPod touch 4G, with 12GB of memory left) and I receive a notification from someone talking to me from Facebook chat via nimbuzz, I click “reply” and it takes me to the app, but 2 seconds later, the app crashes. This happens everytime I click reply. Any ideas why?

The reason why chatrooms are not going to be on other platforms then Java and Symbian is due to shifting priorities and more focus on improving the voice and IM (non-chatroom) experience.

The version I am using is Nimbuzz! Version 2.2.1
I haven’t found this bug/problem in any other version of the app, so if you changed anything about the fast app switching/multitasking it could have caused that. Thank you for taking your time to read this and help make a better experience for the Nimbuzz! Community.

I’m using nimbuzz latest version on my iPhone 4 iOS 4.3. I can’t save the pictures an videos which send by my friends via nimbuzz. When I open that picture it’s says quick look for some friends.. Some of the pictures it’s says save option.

The chatroom feature is just available on Nimbuzz Mobile for Symbian and Java devices.
We don’t have any plans on the short or mid term on other platforms, due to shifting priorities and more focus on improving the voice and IM (non-chatroom) experience.
We will review the possibilities this year but for now there are no plans.

Sorry to use nimbuzz you need to update your iPhone/iPod to iOS 4 or above.
