Great news everybody! Nimbuzz is a finalist for Best Symbian App at the Getjar “Gettie Awards 2010“. We are proud to be among the world’s best Symbian apps, especially since the finalists were picked from an overwhelming 7,000 nominations from more than 100 countries .

Organized by Getjar, the second biggest mobile app store, with over 1Billion downloads and 74,774 apps and games available, in conjunction with the MobileBeat conference, the Getties is the mobile app world’s equivalent of the Oscars.

Nimbuzz is one of the most popular apps in the store and it continuously ranks among the 5 top mobile apps on GetJar next to Facebook, Google and Opera. (more…)

… in Finland. As you might recall, last October (’09) we announced here that “Starting next July 2010, Finland’s Ministry of Transport and Communications will make sure that every person in Finland has access to a one-megabit broadband connection!” . Well it’s July and finally official.  All Finns have the legal right to an internet connection.

But wait, there is more , according to the BBC Finland wants to connect everyone to a 100Mbps connection by 2015. Pretty awesome if you ask me (jealous).
