Nimbuzz Tips: How to choose a strong password

A strong password can save you a lot of trouble in the long run.

Of course it’s easier to choose something it’s simple to remember like “12345″ but that will make it very vulnerable to hacking and people might not even need a computer to discover it.

Because security is the top priority for Nimbuzz, here are a few tips on how to choose a strong password:

Try to mix lower- and upper-case characters, numbers, and punctuation marks
Avoid choosing one of the worst Top500 passwords (i.e.: 123455, password, ,qwerty, abcdef,6543212)
Use acronyms: I Love To Chat On Nimbuzz Every Day ->ILTCONED
Memorize them and avoid writing it on paper
Usually a longer password is a stronger password
Don’t use the same password for all your accounts
Make you password difficult for others to guess, don’t use your dog pet name or month of birth
Always test how secure is your password

Admin, Push feature not an alternative at all. Wat is use of it if we still online. We don’t want remain online for 24X7 . Why can’t u simply say that u removed the feature to be notified when we are offline?? And why nimbuz did it?? It was the awesome feature.. plz nimbuzz answer me and return the buzz feature.. :’(

Nice tips, i wish more people would pay attention to this article. And i would request users to read the Data Protection Act and the consequences behind it. Placing private information in a public social networking site like facebook is very critical. For example, someone can use your private information for blackmailing.

Those were serious tips on security, I have many accounts and I usually use only one password I’ll change that habit. I also found out that robo form can be a very useful tool for those of us who have hundreds of accounts. Anyone out there who’s tried it? I’d love to hear from you. Cheers!

You can change your password online. Go to http://web.nimbuzz.com:

Sign In > scroll down > select Settings > Change Password

On PC client, you can change your password by choosing:

Tools > Options > Account > Change Password

Please enter the number with the notation + followed by the country code and the number, and make sure you have entered the same number that you have saved in the Nimbuzz application settings. i had donwload nimbuzz in nokia mobile and working fine, but i forgot the password, when i open nimbuzz from pc it same , so i goto to rest password but no data base found to my use ID, and before when i had create my account in nimbuzz i didnt put my email(optional) in mobile, thats why i cant reset it and gives no data base found maybe, so what the solution to reset my password if i didnt mentioned the email as option when i had create my account, PLZ help and thx

To be able to retrieve your password you need to have your email address or up to date phone number saved on your Nimbuzz application.

Unfortunately, if you don’t have it you won’t be able to reset your password.

Which model device and Nimbuzz version are you using ?
If you login with Nimbuzz then you should see your contact list. Above your contacts list you should see your own name, status and avatar. If you tap your status, you will have the options to choose your status, set your personal message and to change your avatar.
You can do this by tapping your avatar, then you will have the options to choose a photo, to make a photo or to choose an avatar from N-World.
Chatrooms are only available for Java and Symbian devices due to shifting priorities and more focus on improving the voice and IM (non-chatroom) experience.

hi , im using galaxy ace device and version 2.0.6 from nimbuzz , i follow ur instructions and did the same but it didnt work , its going to rung but after passing some seconds it makes nothing to change , i dont know whats the prob , could it be due to internet limitations in my country iran! ? or else ! the last question : as ur answer we must not wait to the chat room one for android devices !! i think its running to be a lack at this technology. one added question from my friend : he wanna know why some times when we chat in main chat room it got hanged and its not available for some seconds!?

Yes, this is probably because of the internet limitations in your country. We are aware of some issues with avatars in Middle-East countries. This might be due to blocking and filtering by the government in cooperation with the Telecommunications Authorities.
We currently do not have a work-around to solve this.

You can set your status per community.
Login > Tap your name > Tap ”Accounts” > Tap the community of your choice > Tap ” Status ” > Tap the status of your choice.
On some communities, like Facebook, it is not possible to change your status to “Invisible” while using Nimbuzz.

dear sir/madam,i wanna asking u,i have id nimbuzz with special character. ,i love that jid coz i usualy use that jid to onlen and chat,but last time i changes the password and i forgot. .i already put an email in my id. . .but when i try to input my id in nimbuzz forgot password said that nimbuzz cant read my id. . hi , i have an old question which why we cant get access to chat rooms on pc nimbuzz version ! whilst i was used chat on this version of nimbuzz with chat room some months ago and its not possible anymore ! whats the deal with this ?
