Top of the Apps – iPhone photo apps
I’m sure that if you use your iPhone every day and you are an app enthusiast like me, over time you will gather a bunch of cool apps. Starting with this post I would like to share cool iPhone apps on my phone, every week. Most of them are free photo apps, but you will also find some paid ones.
Let’s starts this series with the best iPhone photo apps. Since I have a big passion for taking photos, here are the apps I recommend installing on your iPhone:
- Instagram (free) – is a fast, beautiful and fun way to share your life with friends through a series of pictures. One of the best iPhone camera apps.
What I like about it is that you can use filters to make your pictures fun, follow your friends and discover new creative people.
What I don’t like is that misses a web interface…still
.
- PicPlz (free) – it’s a similar to Instagram. You can take pics, apply filters to make them look good and share them with your followers.
What I like is that it has a web interface and some of the filters are better than on Instagram.
What I don’t like is that not many of my friends joined, so it’s not as fun to share pictures here. Also if you want to process a pic from your camera roll you need to go to the “More”, which I feel is not intuitive…
- DailyBooth(free) – Is the only app that wants you to use your front camera. DailyBooth is about you: what do you do, how you look and where you are.
What I like about it is that you can keep track of all the changes in your look. You can use it to tell how your hair was one day, how you used to dress or when you had the longest beard
. The app also has a live feature where you can see pictures from random people, which you can follow.
What I don’t like? Hmm, I would say I rather miss some cool filters maybe to play around with my photos
, but otherwise it’s great.
- OldPhotoPro (free)- for when you get nostalgic. With this app you can make you photos look really old, but still get a stylish effect.
What I like is that you can choose different filters to age you pictures, different colors and cool ragged edges. Really cool iPhone photo app.
What I don’t like? Nothing to complain
- SneakyPix ($0.99) – is the app for the spy in you. This will allow you to take pictures while faking a phone call.
What I like about the app is that you can make unlimited photos with your phone and no one will notice.
What I miss is the possibility to choose how many photos per minute it will take.
- PS Express (free) – Photoshop is by far one of the best mobile apps out there to help you post process a photo.
I like that it does really good the basic things like: rotate, crop, change luminosity, exposure, tint, contrast, add borers and more. Without it I would probably have to wait until I get to a PC to work on my photos, and only after to share them with my friends.
Would be nice to have some filters like other apps have, but otherwise this is a must have.
- Picture Effect Magic (free) – has a lot of filters and effects you can use on your photos.

What I like is that you get cool filters like Vertical Quad and Subtense which you don’t get anywhere else.
The bad part is that you will get frustrated with the interface which is pretty basic and not very intuitive. But if you can get over it, it’s fine.
- Camera+ ($0.99) – brings the DSLR feeling on your iPhone
What I like is that you can choose shooting modes like: Portrait, Landscape, Night etc and the app auto adjusts the exact settings for your pics. Also a killer feature is that you can select the luminosity of the pic independent of focus point, which will give you a lot more options to create beautiful photos.
I think this is a complete app and I don’t miss anything.
Bonus section
As a bonus, a must have app for anyone with an iPhone is Nimbuzz, one of the best social apps for your iPhone. With Nimbuzz you can call and chat for free with all your Nimbuzz friends, and even add other IM communities like Facebook, MSN or Yahoo!.
