Update: Nimbuzz for Blackberry with free avatars and improved Facebook connectivity!

The new Nimbuzz 1.3.6 for Blackberry smartphones is ready for download.

This update comes with nifty features and fixes that we’re sure you will enjoy:

  • A fix for the Facebook connectivity issue
  • Free avatars – choose new and exciting avatars for your profile picture from N-World
  • Free bots – check out how your day will be with the new Astrology bot from N-World
  • Improved reconnection process – so you can spend more time online ;)

In this new version you have access to N-World, a place where you can find free avatars and free bots. To access N-World on you device, you need to press the BlackBerry key-> scroll down -> click on N-World -> choose a new avatar or add a new bot to your contact list.

We also crushed a few small bugs thanks to your feedback, so the entire experience should be better now.

At the moment the new version is available on Nimbuzz.com and will be available on Blackberry World in the next week.

We would love to hear what you think about the new version so if you like it or have any suggestions please let us know.

  5. Why java version of nimbuzz is always neglected?
It’s true that most of the mobile chatters still use their feature phones for chatting with friends instead of smartphone. We always see a blog post whenever a new version of nimbuzz releases for any smartphone OS. But what about Java version? As we see recently nimbuzz updated their java client for feature phones to 1.9.2. But we haven’t seen any official blog post about that update info. And we don’t know even what’s new in the new version. Would you pls describe it? Or if possible pls make it a blog post.

When you are in chat with your friend go to ”View Profile”.
If your friend has ”Share location” enabled, you will see a miniature map with your friends location on it.

  15. Hello!
I was wondering if there was any chance of Messages (aka Blackberry Inbox) integration on Blackberry. I hate to switch to the app to check a quick response and I love to have all the message stuff (mails, sms, IMs) together in the Messages app.
    Thanks!

What exactly is your issue ? What device, type of connection and Nimbuzz version are you using ? Do you receive an error message ? If so, what does this error message say?
In which country are you located ?
    Regards.

    Yasmin Sebba June 20th, 2011
  23. Two comments:
    1. The profile pic issue is still not resolved. Other people can’t see my picture when they talk to me, even though I can see it on.
    2. When connection is lost, the program tries to reconnect. It doesnt seem to be posible to stop the program from doing that, given that the menu changes when that happens, giving you only the option to close the program but not to log out of it. Then, when you regain connection, it reconnects, but it’s uncomfortable when you are already on let’s say, MSN and you have to get back on Nimbuzz and close it proprly.
    Otherwise, a great app

Have you tried uploading a different profile pic?
Which contacts cannot see your profile pic? Nimbuzz contacts or from another community? If so, which one?
In regards of the reconnecting issue, you can check on the device settings itself and turn auto-reconnect off.
    Cheers

  33. Hi, Why the Nimbuzz for BlackBerry does not have the GUI as it is in Nimbuzz for Symbian…example, the bubble type of chat messages; user interfaces in Nokia is superb compared to BlackBerry Nimbuzz. Due for an upgrade or need to live with this version?

  38. Hi,

I’m using the BlackBerry curve 9300 with BIS; Nimbuzz version is the latest 1.3.6. Nimbuzz frequently gets disconnected and goes Offline. This did not happen with the previous version. Also it takes more time to load. Is there a bug or a fix for this?

    Shyam August 3rd, 2011
  39. @Shyam
Could you please change the following settings in the Nimbuzz application?

Select Menu > Settings > Connection Type > HTTP

In case you know your connection type select manually the Start – up Connection also.
    Regards

  40. Hi,
No luck even after changing the connection settings. It frequently goes OFFLINE and every time I have to reconnect and it takes quite a time to reconnect.

Is there an option to downgrade to the previous version?

    Shyam

    Shyam August 5th, 2011
  41. @ Shyam
There is no option to downgrade your Nimbuzz because we do not provide older versions of Nimbuzz.
Could you try this again, using another type of connection, like WiFi?
    Regards,

    Yasmin Sebba August 8th, 2011
  42. I didn’t have a problem with the WiFi connection. It’s two hours now and its stable. There is a problem during the BIS connectivity.

    Shyam August 9th, 2011
  43. @ Shyam
Good to hear your issue is solved ! If you have problems with your BIS connection, we suggest you to contact your provider.
    Regards.

    Yasmin Sebba August 10th, 2011
  44. I figured out the exact problem – I logged on to Nimbuzz using the BIS (I had selected Automatic in Connection Type). I stays connected ONLY until I get a phone call. After the phone call when I check Nimbuzz it got disconnected and shows Offline, it doesn’t reconnect automatically.

I contacted the mobile service provider and they said they would not be able to do much for a 3rd party application in BB.

I don’t know if it is a problem with the Nimbuzz version I have on my BB (1.3.6) or something else.

It’s too difficult to stay connected in BB without Nimbuzz; I’m currently using the 30-day trial Beejive as a stop gap use.

    Please help.
