This week was awesome. The Nimbuzz community just reached 50 Million users worldwide and we also launched a super cool update for Nokia Symbian phones .

To make it even more awesome we are giving away a very stylish Nimbuzz desktop Wallpaper. We have optimized this for six different screen resolutions and you can download it here. We hope you like it.

Next week, we will  make something for our Symbian users so stay tuned!

The new Nimbuzz 3.2 for Nokia Symbian phones is ready to download.

This brand new version packs really awesome features that will make chatting even more fun. Here is what’s new:

• Message Delivery Notifications will display checkmarks when your message arrives on your friend’s phone.
• New Favorites Tab offers quick access to your  favorite contacts so you can start chatting and calling faster.
• Reintroduced the # shortcut – by pressing the # key you will go to the top of your contact list.
• Auto-start – offers the possibility to automatically start Nimbuzz when you turn on your mobile phone.

Awesome news, we just reached the amazing milestone of 50 million registered Nimbuzz users!

Since July 2010, more than 28 million new users joined Nimbuzz , with an amazing 100,000 new users every day. This means that in less than a year the Nimbuzz community doubled its size !

Next steps? In the near future we are aiming to leverage and improve our existing mobile social graph and add an entertainment layer to our existing proposition. By doing this we want to offer a richer user experience to all Nimbuzz users with access to social games, virtual goods and local daily deals.

Our goal is to create a new experience for you so you can enjoy the best of both worlds. By doing this we hope to redefine the way users interact with their mobile social applications and pioneer a whole new app category .

You can see the latest Nimbuzz facts revealed in the infographic below but to quickly sum it up here are the most important numbers:

• 50 Million registered users worldwide

How to install Google Chrome themes?

1. Save the files on your computer
2. Unzip the files
3. Pick the right version for you (Mac or Windows)
4. Drag the file in Chrome
5. Click Continue (bottom left)
6. Done – you can enjoy the brand new themes.

This version can be used with any of the popular browsers (FF, Chrome, IE), there is no download needed and it’s a very useful when you’re away from your PC/Mac/mobile.

This week for Freebie Friday we are giving away a really awesome Nimbuzz iPhone wallpaper.

This comes in 20 versions, each customized to fit the a different app position. With this wallpaper no matter where you place the Nimbuzz icon on your screen it will always shine . You can get them from here.

We have upgraded our popular friend suggestions feature to be even more awesome and easy to use. This was a server side update so if you are using the latest Nimbuzz mobile version you already have it (no download needed) .

As you already know the friend suggestions feature detects which of your phone contacts are already using Nimbuzz. The new update will automatically add them to your Nimbuzz contact list so you can call and chat with your friends for free instead of paying for operator minutes and SMS text messages.

We have also improved the phone number matching algorithm for better phone number(s) recognition in international and national format. . This will increase the chances of finding new Nimbuzzers in your phonebook.

Any of the suggested contacts can be manually deleted if necessary and they won’t be suggested again (yes, in case you change your mind you can add them again manually ).

We are happy to let you know that a new version of Nimbuzz (1.9.2) is ready for download on your Java enabled mobile phone.

The new version is packed with useful features that will help you manage better your online presence.

Here are the new features:

• Invisible mode – to appear invisible to your Nimbuzz contacts while you are actually online.
• New Notifiable icon - for contacts that have the app closed but are available via push notification or Ping.
• Mandatory phone number verification for chat-rooms
• Faster login
• Less data consumption We expect that on average you will consume 50% less data, and depending on how you use Nimbuzz, this could get save you an amazing 70% in data used.
