After months of rumors and speculations, Sony has finally unveiled the much talked about Xperia Tablet Z powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The 10.1 inch tablet is waterproof and dustproof and with its 495 grams of weight, it’s all game for a lazy bath.
Armed with a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chip processor, the tablet Xperia Tablet Z can handle all kinds of graphic intensive gaming as well as high speed web browsing. The tablet is 6.9 millimeter thick and weighs 495 grams as compared to the iPad which is 9.4 millimeter thick and weighs 652 grams.
The Xperia Tablet Z at the current dimensions and weight is among the most portable tablets in the market. Despite being thin in appearance, Sony has squeezed in a microSD expansion slot. It also features 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
Currently, Sony plans to launch the tablet only in Japan in the first half of 2013. We hope it reaches the Indian shores soon enough as it could redefine portability with its sleek and lightweight design. Equipped with NFC and LET support as well as the Nimbuzz application, this tablet will let you stay connected anywhere, even while having a bath.
