The new Samsung Galaxy Grand phablet, which was recently unveiled at a press event by the company, has stirred up a lot of interest with its affordable pricing and a 5-inch screen. The handheld mobile device is equipped with a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and 1 GB of RAM. The phone offers internal storage memory of 8 GB extendable through a microSD card.
Among other features of the Galaxy Grand are the 8MP autofocus camera with LED flash and a front-facing 2MP camera. The new mobile is available in the colors white and black and functions on the Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean).
In terms of size, the new Galaxy Grand is as big as the original Samsung Galaxy Note and is similar to most Samsung phones in appearance. With a 5-inch screen, the new handheld device like any other phablet in the industry can only be used with 2 hands rather than 1.
While Samsung is playing along the lines of affordability with the launch of this phone, the phone lacks certain essential features such as Gorilla Glass protection. Moreover, the phone may stutter and freeze momentarily while multitasking.
To garner customers and boost sales, Samsung has further added a few software applications to the handset including the Smart Stay, multi-windows multi-tasking, pop-up video, Smart Alert and the S-Voice assistant. In addition to software, the Samsung also offers dual-SIM functionality in the Galaxy Grand.
The new phablet is set to be launched in the month of February 2013 worldwide. The Samsung Galaxy Grand promises to be an exciting gadget for gaming, browsing, watching videos and pictures, fun applications and a good time. With the clarity of the 2-megapixel front facing camera, the clarity of video chatting is bound to be enhanced. So Check out Nimbuzz on the new Samsung Galaxy grand.
