In March’s Ambassador Spotlight, we showcased Roger from USA, who loved the Nimbuzz’s location feature on his Nokia N95. He recently sent us a project that we had to share with you – combining 2 engines, a parachute, and a Nimbuzz-equipped mobile phone!

Yes, a rocket! Roger’s goal with the amateur rocket was to combine his favorite phone & hobby. Pushing technology to the limit by estimating the altitude and velocity with  Nokia Sports Tracker, recording the launch 1^st hand with Nokia N95′s integrated video camcorder, and utilizing the Nimbuzz Mobile’s location feature (with the help of Nimbuzz buddies/users) to locate and retrieve his phone and rocket!  Talk about staying connecting anywhere in the world! Last week we have announced that a new Nimbuzz survey is available for you, the Nimbuzz users.  As an incentive, we are giving away 3 Nokia 5800 XM mobiles at random to 3 lucky winners that complete the short survey.

Geoff Casely – our VP Business Development will be speaking at Global Tech Showcase 2009 Conference in La Baule, France. The conference started on June 3rd and ends on  June 5th 2009.

So if you are in the area, you are interested in the mobile buzz and you would like to meet Nimbuzz around Europe you can meet Geoff at GTS 2009.

Hosted by Avise Partners, the 3rd edition will feature some of the world most promising high-tech companies and introduce them to European technology leaders from Siemens, FT, Bertelsmann, Infineon, Renault, Vodafone, Veolia and Royal Bank of Scotland among others.

If you can’t make it no worries, there will be other events and occasions to meet Nimbuzz!

Geoff Casely, our VP of Business Development, will be speaking  Mobile Web 2.0 Summit 2009  on 3rd June 2009 in  London, UK.  He will also be around on the 4th, so if you are in the area, interested in mobile social messaging, and you would like to meet Nimbuzz, check in with Geoff.

Geoff will be speaking about delivering comprehensive mobile social services across a range of platforms and the evolution of the Nimbuzz business model, and the role of partnerships within it.

We will be judged by Innovate!Europe’s mentors during the Innovate!Europe Master Class on the quality of concept, market opportunity, business execution, team and readiness to grow the  business globally. Judges will take into account the votes companies garner on Vator.tv.

Mobile News Awards 2009 created a new category this year, apparently with Nimbuzz in mind. Nimbuzz stood-out as the “Best Converged Solution” based on the following criteria:

• Real-time multimedia communications
• Transactional applications
• Integration of IT and mobile application
• Implementation of VoIP in mobile
• Enterprise products and solutions
• Voice and data products and services

Mobilenewscwp sums it up with “Social networking apps provider Nimbuzz took Best Converged Solution trophy from under the noses of Truphone, INQ, Nokia, Orange, 20:20, HTC, and MX Telecom.”
