Wi-Fi in the Sky is the next big thing! (or so they say)

Each day, our lives become more and more mobile, and we need to always be available to our family, friends or business contacts.

The latest buzz in the blogosphere is the project of introducing a Wi-Fi connection, in the airplanes. This will result in complete and “always on” presence online for the ones that need it (like me ).

For U.S. we already have dates when Wi-Fi will be available for most of the travelers.

“AirTran Airways will equip all of its 136 planes with Wi-Fi by the end of July 2009.”
“Delta Air Lines, which operates more than 1,000 planes, and American Airlines, with more than 600 jets, are rolling the service out over the next year (2010).” [LAtimes]

Good news for iPhone and iPod touch users: we just launched an update of Nimbuzz [Download Nimbuzz ].

You can watch the video demo HERE.

Here are the new features:

• Use your camera to update your display picture, or choose from your camera roll.
• See the avatars of your buddies.
• Auto-rotate feature, let’s you stay in landscape mode chat with wide screen keyboard.

We also fixed a few bugs, which is always good

Mashable calls Nimbuzz the industry leading IM and VOIP app, specifically for the iPhone! They say our simplistic interface is pure fun to use.

It is Tech N’ Marketing‘s all time favorite iPhone app – “going where no other app has gone before”.

People seem to also love our landscape-mode chat functionality, ReadWriteWeb said that having the ability to use the wider keyboard made sending messages even easier, and that it is “the thing that sold me on Nimbuzz“!

December was a good month for Apple and iPod touch. According to the latest AdMob
metrics report: “Worldwide iPod Touch traffic increased 2.4 times in the 7 days after Christmas compared to the 7 days before. In the US and UK, requests were 2.7 and 3.2 times higher after Christmas”.
