  • Best Screen Snap – is a free app that allows you to capture screenshots on your Nokia smartphone and save them to a file or send them to friends or to your desktop computer. I use this app whenever I find an issue, to take a screenshot and share with the team :P , saves me a lot of time when I need to explain what exactly happened.

Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type: touchscreen and T9 combo. Why?

August 19th, 2010

Nokia X3 - Touch and Type

Last week we discussed the advantages of Touchscreen vs QWERTY vs T9 and which would be the best choice. As @cycnus very well observed in the comments,  there’s a new concept from Nokia that should be included in our discussion, the Nokia x3 touchscreen and T9 combo.

I already had the chance to test the new Nokia X3 :D and I liked it.

It felt natural to switch between the keypad and the touchscreen. Typing on the keypad was pretty fast, which was proof that all the years I spent learning the keypad were still paying off :)   The keypad to me was still intuitive and comfortable to use.

When navigating trough the menu I touched the screen instinctively to confirm an action, not because I was prompted to. In other words it was very easy for me to adapt to the phone’s advantage of getting the best of both worlds.

The learning period was really short.

The X3 will be priced at $161 (125 Euros).

Symbian is dead. Long live Symbian.” one might say after the news that Symbian will no longer power Nokia’s N series . Well, the truth is that Symbian is far away from being “dead“,  or anything like that. The guys from the Symbian team are working hard on the new Symbian^4 which is scheduled for release sometime in Q4 of 2010 or at the beginning of 2011. We are lucky enough to see some early screenshots of the new operating system. The images were captured via an emulator so, there is actually code behind it, not just a beautiful design mock up.

At a first look here is what we can say about the Symbian^4 features:
