Hi all, we reached some amazing milestones today!

150,000,000 downloads of Nimbuzz, and 3,650,000,000 voice minutes logged in the last year.  Yes, those are millions and billions .

Nimbuzz has logged over 5 million downloads on the Nokia Ovi store, and over 45 million on GetJar, the second largest app store in the world.

The NimbuzzOut calls, combined with the free Nimbuzz to Nimbuzz calls, and the SIP calls have accounted for around 3.65 billion voice minutes over the last year!

The Nimbuzz community is 30 million strong and we are seeing 70,000 new members join every day. That is pretty much one new Nimbuzzer every second!  Our universal communications service offers free and low-cost calls through our VoIP product, NimbuzzOut as well as free messaging and file sharing across all major platforms, including iPhone (iOS), Android, BlackBerry, Symbian and Java, on over 3000 mobile devices!

This is pretty amazing!

In light of the situation in Saudi Arabia, with BlackBerry encrypted services being banned, people are flocking to Nimbuzz by the thousands as their primary solution for chat, IM, texting and messaging on their BlackBerry mobile phones.

As a matter of fact, out of 700,000 BlackBerry users in Saudi Arabia, 10 percent have now chosen Nimbuzz for their communications  – chat/IM/messaging — needs. As of August 6, we are seeing a user log in from Saudi Arabia every two seconds, with almost 10,000 new registrations from Saudi Arabia daily.

We are pleased that BlackBerry users in Saudi Arabia, both residents and tourists, are still able to connect to their friends and family around the world using our Nimbuzz service.  Because Nimbuzz is an open platform and uses XMPP and JINGLE technologies that comply with Saudi government regulations, users can still chat, IM, text and message on their BlackBerry legally.

Good news for all the Nokia and Nimbuzz fans out there, Nimbuzz is present in the Ovi store and ready for download for your beloved Nokia mobile phones [Ovi Download link].

In the last year many of us realized that Apple’s App Store model was a huge success and with 1 Billion applications downloaded in less one year,  few can contradict this.

The idea spread out really quick and soon after,  big names of the mobile industry went in the same direction.  Nokia,  Google, Sony (and a lot more to follow) created a unique space for their users to find the best applications for their mobile phones. From what we can tell each of the stores is a success:  App Store, Android Market, Ovi Store and also Getjar.com where Nimbuzz was the was #1 most downloaded application in US store last month.

Great week here at Nimbuzz HQ! We have good news and coverage to share with you!

Thanks to Will Park from Intomobile for letting us know that Nimbuzz was the most downloaded app on Getjar in the US in July!

Getjar is the world’s most popular mobile application distribution and developer community, with over 200,000 developer and beta-tester accounts and it’s makes us really happy to see that Nimbuzz is the most popular application among US users.

Great news everyone, Nimbuzz won Best Mobile Startup category at the TechCrunch Europe Awards 2009 for European and EMEA companies!!

This award is a big deal for Nimbuzz and great recognition from industry leaders, expert advisors and influencers from all over the world.

We are extremely proud of this achievement and the fact that we are welcoming nearly 1 million new Nimbuzz users per month! Everything is moving towards the top right, and that’s a great thing for everyone.
